    What I will say though is that before we started all this we had thoughts of not staying in our first home particularly long term - say 3 to 5 years. Now I feel like I don't want to go through this again for ten years!

    I moved into the area in 2004 and moved once to another rental in 2009, so every 5 years or so felt reasonable for moving. Not for this buying stress though!

    Also I can't imagine the stress of having to buy and sell at the same time, so would strongly consider moving into rented again when selling time comes.
