Its official I am melting :o
DD has her party this afternoon at soft play centre which no doubt will be like an oven. Must make sure DS doesn't have a nosebleed like the one he had last night
Afterwards we are going to a park a short drive away which has an open air lido type paddling pool so the kids can have a real good cool off after the party.

I did my housework bits this morning so am just chilling for a bit before we head off to the party.

Molly good news on the date for the op, keep your chin up x

BB hope MRI scan went ok x

Hugs and spoons all round xx

Ah it is as warm as ever!
I have been to ASDA for my opticians appt - also spent a couple of pounds on some mixes (cheese sauce, sausage casserole, stroganoff, beef and ale, southern fried nuggets and carbonara) and some custard powder (finally).
Stayed on the bus all the way in to town as otherwise I'd have lost my motivation. Picked up a few bits in lidl (baby plum toms, cucumber, smoked ham, Eggs) and Iceland (toilet roll, cheese, bread rolls).
Oh also picked up some baby new potatoes and cherries from the grocers

Shouldn't need anything else now other than milk this week.

Feeling peckish so going to need to eat something, not sure what I fancy though. I have decided for tea I am going to treat myself to a mini BBQ experience. Fresh salad, sausage in a roll, homemade potato salad, boiled eggs, may make up some pasta salad too. It will all keep for a day or two too so I can have similar tomorrow and Monday :-)

Washing machine is on with the whites so will get those out to dry soon. Its still too hot to be doing the garden so I will get on with that later in the day and just relax with pup for a bit

    Afternoon all

Not long back from the Community Day at the local senior school. We had a shady spot in the coutyard to sell cakes and publicise the foodbank. We had a nice relaxing time and made over £60. Cooking cakes last night was not so relaxing!

Bit warm here this afternoon. I have been sitting in the garden but have retreated into the house. The car registered 33 degrees about an hour ago. I like the sunshine but don't do much when it's like this.

I am making Mortgage Free in Three's mildly alcoholic ginger beer(you can find the recipe on her blog) and it is certainly fermenting nicely. OH made me put it out in the shade in the garden while we went out. You make it in the bottle(used previously for a fizzy drink) and release the cap every so often as it ferments and the pressure builds up. It only takes 2 days and then you put it in the fridge to stop further fermentation and when cold it's ready to drink. Could be a winner!

Well another cuppa beckons so hugs to all who would like one.

    Have a nice evening.

    Afternoon all,

the idea was to go grocery shopping early this morning because of the heat. We still didn't get out of the door till 11am but by that time the sun was unbearably hot. I'd arranged with 'Youngest' who was at home that he would unpack the shopping whilst we went to our nearest shopping centre. The plan was I was going to buy bed linen and hubby was going to sort out our phone contracts which expired a couple of days ago. I'd nudged him in the right direction as to what plan I thought we ought to go for and after discussing everything including the weather with the salesman... between them they agreed that the plans I suggested were the right choice for us. Not only do we get to keep our own phone numbers but the price plans are cheaper.

Ive been indulgent and bought myself a sun hat..... I think its a bit too nice for everyday though... I say that cause I took it to the till to pay for it and the assistant said 'Buying it for a special occasion?' Like a twit I said 'Yes, to look nice'. I don't think I came over very well and now ive got the hat home i'm thinking it maybe a bit too 'dressy'. Still, I love it so i'm not taking it back. If I can get me a nice pair of shoes to go with the hat... maybe no one will notice the rest of me that's in the middle.:D

Butterfly Brain, I hope your scan goes/has gone well.

Molly hugs to you. Last time I went in hospital I worried myself sick. If it wasn't for the fact the lump on my neck cut off my windpipe when I lay back I think I might have chickened out but i'm glad I didn't. No longer do I wake up gasping for breath after rolling on my back whilst I'm asleep but I still cant get out of the habit of lying on my tum though... old habits die hard!

The men are busy this weekend. Hubby has a date with a motorbike engine and 'Youngest' is going to a barbecue sleep over tonight. I can just do what I want.:) Perfect!

Hope your all having a lovely weekend.

Lovely day in Manchester although very hot. Parked ten minutes outside which was very OS but my feet are absolutely killing me now. Had flat shoes on but cheapy ones.
I've decided tomorrow that I'm going to go out and buy some proper comfy shoes that fit right and now allow the cost to dictate. I cannot bare another day with sore feet:mad: sorry rant over.
Anyway hubby has promised me a foot massage later. heaven.
Neither of us need any tea after a late shared lunch and dessert, but I may treat myself to strawberries and cream for supper, mmmm.
Time for pjs and then we shall watch Top of the Lake which looks interesting.
    Have a good evening x
