This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning All
It looks set to be a scorcher today and it is the weekendYeah!
I have an MRI scan today at 10am so I hope that it is not too hot before noon.
Didn't sleep much because it was too hot and then at 4.30am DD's BF passed out in the bathroom, so everyone was woken up. he is ok, thankfully, I think that he just got up too quickly.
Just finished my breakfast and am off for a shower.
Enjoy the lovely weather while we have it.

Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Sunny, bright and very warm here. Washing on the line. Plants watered.
DH and DS1 up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner for the menfolk last night was breaded chicken steaks in fresh bread rolls with salad and chips - I was a lazy wife and mum as the menfolk had chips 2 nights in a row! I had mushroom omlette and salad. Tonight will be some sort of chinese chicken/prawns in sauce with stir fry, noodles and rice.
I'm taking DS2 to his last karting lesson this morning as dad is not available to take him as normal. When we get back and the menfolk have finished work we will be going to the caravan to empty it out - we have already brought some stuff back but there's still lots more, will give it a clean down too. Anything we don't get done today will have to be done tomorrow.
We have a joint of pork for tomorrow's lunch, will do all the trimmings with it. The joint is quite big so I'm going to save some to have for dinner on Tuesday. Have been researching some different recipes and have done a menu plan for this week which features a couple of new dinners - have already told the menfolk they will be having a couple of different new meals and that they are to be tried and we will see if we like/don't like or want to change the recipe etc.
Yesterday managed to have a while outside in the sunshine with my book - was very nice.
Have a good day - remember the suncream if you're out in the sun!
Keep safe and well x

Good Morning Butterfly and All Who follow xx
Ive not been posting for a while but reading as always. I have the date for my admission for the 1st of September and am now officially pooing myself. Im not very brave and know too much having worked for the NHS all my life:eek: I will be away from home too as the hospital is in London so feeling quite low atm.
Anyhooooooo........onwards and upwards (or downwards as need to lose a few pounds before September!!!!)
Hester - hope you ok? I seem to have lost your blog and wondered if it was a generic problem or just me??
Hugs for a good OS Day xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning :hello:
I've lost Hester's blog too
I was going to watch a couple of programs on catch-up, can't remember what they're called – the foody one and the benefits one. These sort of programs appear sometimes and they turn out to be rubbish, I was hoping for balanced views and no benefit bashing, etc. But after reading people's opinions on here, they seem to be more of the same so I'm not going to bother. I'm trying to be relaxed and laid-back, I don't need blood-boiling patronising put-downs from 'experts' who haven't got a clue
We drove past a country church yesterday, just as a wedding was finishing. Groom was walking a dog, bride was on a horse. It looked fab and a bit odd at the same time
There are suddenly loads of ripe raspberries in the garden, I'll be feasting on them laterWe've pulled up a few turnips, they've been chopped and frozen.
I went through my wardrobe, tops and shirts that were too small last year now fit :j
I'm going to give the garden a good soaking before it gets too hot.
I have to sort out my email, it's not working properly. It's especially annoying as a couple of weeks ago I set up a new one for job applications and I can't apply online atm.Bulletproof0 -

Morning everyone
What a beautiful day
molly glad you have got your date to go in , keep strong xx
tru. I don't have any raspberries yet, I have a few strawberries coming and I've not had a single flower on my blueberry bush
Off to move all dd1 s stuff out of the uni halls and into a house her and 3 others are sharing, trust us to pick the hottest day of the year  DH's car broke down on Thursday while we were in Nottingham and we had to be towed back , the RAC chap thinks is terminal but we will have to wait and see what the mechanic says. The problem we have today is my car is so small it means we will have to do more trips to take DDs stuff
I've packed a picnic for us to have to try and avoid the usual ' can we have a mcd0nalds '. Lol
Have a good day everyone xx0 -

Morning all,
spent some time typing out my nice post on my tablet and then the browser crashed and lost it all! So I have resorted to my netbook!
Last night I got home later than planned from my time with my friend (9.15pm!) and as I had skipped lunch and only had a Mc D's ice cream whilst out I knew if I didn't eat a proper meal I'd feel rotten. So I knocked up a quick chile and rice pita with a little salad.
Breakfast has been natural yogurt with some oats and a little jam, don't think I'll be too fussed for lunch and for dinner...I'm not sure. Something with pasta maybe and plenty of fresh veggies!
Plans today:
Adventure on the buses (everyone is either away or at work so no lifts!) to the big ASDA for an opticians appointment, home to fuss pup, off in to our little town centre for the galathen home to relax and potter in the garden.
I need some shopping but its so warm already and most is fridge stuff and it's an hour on the buses to asda (each way) so don't think I'll keep it cool enough. I think I am going to get the bits in Iceland just before I leave town after I've been to the gala and also I want to check out lidl as I haven't been in there for a while. I don't think prices will be that different either
Plenty to be doing, some honeysuckle is getting wild so want to get a little more of that cut back. But as I'm missing the dragon boats at a local country park I am making a point of going to the galaI'm sure I'll get plenty and more done
Will pop in later to catch up with everyone!************************************
