Is it possible to hide your identity when buying a house?

Many people don't pay all that much attention to name. As long as you don't run into them during viewings they might not even fully "realise" its you.0

As long as I knew you were serious about buying it wouldn't bother me that we had had a 'feud' in the past.
When you think about it, selling a house can already be quite an emotive time - you often see feuding families and splitting up couples causing problems during a sale that not all of them agree needs to happen (sometimes against all logic). Adding in buyers that they have an issue with as well is not going to help.
It may not just be the sellers that are letting emotions cloud their judgement. OP, have you tried to consider the situation with an outsider's perspective to judge whether this particular property is special enough that it warrants going through an awkward buying process? Quite possibly it really is a unique property, but most aren't and it can be easier than you think to find a comparable or better alternative.0 -
Buy through people you trust who act as trustees for you. Property will then be registered in their names.
Don't expect to get a mortgage if you are doing this though.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -
If you are cash buying then this is not too hard to do...Just change your wifes name for six months via deed poll.
I am sure she will oblige...It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

it must be fairly easy as it occurs in Eastenders all the time!0
