Yes I am back, so even tho I never signed up for two cards I am still legally bound???

    Regards
    Basil.
If you have used both to spend on yes you are legally bound to pay back any outstanding sum plus interest and charges as per their terms and conditions.
  • Is it not possible that you received a renewal card around the same time you requested a replacement?

I've seen this happen, often because renewals are ordered months in advance.

Would a renewal card have a different account number and be a different type of card i.e a rewards card??
  • A renewal would likely have the same card number as the card preceeding, the replacement would be different. As for new account types I couldn't say.

    Certainly odd though.

No - with most banks each new card will come with a new card number.

I can only speak for my own bank in this case. That's usually how we tell if this has occurred.

Is it the Virgin one? I want one of those accounts to get the airmiles. Hopefully once EQ sort out the incorrect data on my file then I'll get accepted for it. Daren't try until then.

Sorry for late reply - just noticed your question.

Mine isn't Virgin, it's MBNA. I have it for Frequent Fliers miles too.
