Received a contract from firm X that was mentioned in the Guardian and so I thought would be OK but it's in legalese and I am wary of signing it as eg it seems I have to pay disbursements up front so might end up out of pocket

1. If you win your claim, you pay us an administration fee and our charges. You will pay disbursements in any event and on our request and the payment of disbursements is not conditional on success and is not deferred to the end of the case. You may be entitled to seek recovery from your opponent of part or all of our charges and disbursements.

2. If you lose you may be liable for the other side’s costs.

Anyone had experience of going through a case with a NWNF and what sort of disbursements did you pay and did you get them back?

Yes, this doesn't sound very "no win, no fee" - if you are liable for disbursements, what service exactly are you getting?

And does no win no fee also usually expose you to the other party's costs?

Edit: Just googled and found this:
