Sorry, I'm lost in a welter of relatives - surely X can't be your cousinn's mother? I think I must have misread something.

I think x is the cousins mother. I read it as the OP and her cousin are blood related through the father.

This. My Mother's eldest brother is married to X.

Well after a ton of shouting and ranting and raving (that I refused to take part of, as did my cousin). She has finally relented, and he is allowed to stay this weekend.

I didn't much like her to begin with, but my evil master plan is complete, I now have two kittens living with me, and X is terrified, so she wont be the one dropping my cousin off anymore. I think no interaction is probably for the best, as she just doesn't seem to like anything about me, never has, even when I was a baby.

Thank you for updating us. I am so glad this awful situation has been resolved and that you can maintain contact with your cousin. I think this will be very beneficial for both of you.

Don't concern yourself with how your Aunt views you, or let her negativity toward you bring you down in any way. Your value doesn't decrease based on someone else's inability to see your worth.

Your cousin clearly likes and appreciates you and that is what you should focus on :)
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.
