What would you do if you had a child that bit another child? Make sure they die too?
I have had Dogs most of my life. But would never have put up with one that bit.
And I do not know about you're children (or dogs) but mine never bit anyone.
(You appear to have difficulty in distinguishing between humans and animals. )I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
It's not a case of "putting up with it" but realising that actions do have causes. It is very rare for a dog to bite for absolutely no reason - even without an environmental trigger, the cause would most likely be physical, such as pain, illness, other physical discomfort, or perhaps a medical condition causing extreme anxiety - even something extreme like a brain tumour.
The OP is not "putting up with it", they're asking where to go from here. And as advised, a thorough medical investigation will deal with the potential physical trigger, and a behaviourist can address the environmental trigger.0 -
It sounds like the bathroom could be an area he considers his domain.
Look into training techniques to cure possessive behaviour.0 -

I am quite able to distinguish between the two, one usually being considerably less furry than the other.
I just think 'it would die' is a very harsh way to speak about a living thing.0 -

I haven't read further than this post yet, but what does "Type of dog" have to with anything? I understood from these pages that breeds have nothing to do with behaviour. All down to ownership. Interested to see the replies.
In this case the type of dog is completely relevant, at the time everyone was trying to establish whether the dog was suffering from the heat. A short haired light coloured whippet would suffer less than a big black hairy Newfoundland. It wasn't leading the questioning to OMG it's an evil pit bull and must die because they are all killers0 -

How is he behaving now? A trip to the vet may be in order.
I'm sorry to say it, but I'm a bit shocked that a grown woman broke down in tears and hid over this though!
It's not so hot that dog's can't cope. If you think it is, put cool towels over them. It's not that hot though! Mine brought his marrowbone to me for approval today, quite happy for me to take it. He's not hot!0 -
