If ESA is stopping due to the 365 days rule, have you looked at the support group descriptors? ESA support group isn't time limited.

Thanks, I have no idea how much I would be paid so not expecting much of a lump sum to backdates of what they owe. Ive had the condition now for over 10 years and had applied before many years ago when it was DLA but was declined, went to tribunal and still declined however since then its progressively become worse and I also suffer with phobias now too and other illnesses (not linked).

If ever I could do witht he financiall help it would be now especialy as I am worrying to my wits end about my ESA being cut completely in April thanks to the government my 2 years is up although im not due for review until next year I just not entitled to any more payments. My bank has closed my account because they say ive gone overdrawn when I simply cannot and my statements show that I havent ever (online) and therefore all my DD are stopped (including my husbands tax credits going in) so my bills will soon be in a mess and as quick as I am struggling to cope to sort them out im terrified I am losing the battle and will be back in debt (I had a DRO a couple years ago (all the debt was at the time built up from priority living expenses not careless frivilous spending) which is now 'served' but am still within the 6 year 'good behaviour' period). Although saying all this there is still no guarantee I will be granted the approval to recieve the PIP anyway and still have several hoops n hurdles to negotiate by the sounds of it anyways.

Contributory ESA (WRAG) is only payable for a year, so not sure where your 'two years' come from, but if your income and savings is below a certain level, you can be transferred to Income a Related ESA - you should get a form when the contributory element is due to run out.

  • Oh my goodness - this doesn't give me much hope!

I can't believe you still haven't heard anything. I applied at the beginning of November - and since then have had the same response from calling ATOS.

It's ridiculous!!! It seems we must all wait forever for the opportunity to be treated with disdain.
  • i applied august 2013,was going for an assesment end of jan when i got there they had cancelled appointment part of my condition is agoraphobia had to take my son with me and got up at 3am to prepare myself, travel expenses took a month to come threw, just had another assessment had to travel this time to edinburgh which is over 45 miles from me,after my terrible time which took 3 days to recover from i was told atos would send report within 8 weeks then dwp takes another 4 weeks before getting any kind of answer so it will be roughly 43weeks since i did my claim and probably wont get anything as by the way the scrutinizing everything you have to be practically one foot in the grave to get anything (pardon the pun dont mean to offend anyone,)at to top this of i have to go to atos this week for my esa assesment i have no idea how long that takes to sort out, theres no way i can work,im on 23 different types of medication and all this just makes me feel more of a failure than i already do,cant see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Well still not heared a thing and as I tally its almost 7 1/2 months since sending my application now. So I have finally written an email to my local MP all the good that might do not expecting a lot of help from a Conservative MP after all!

Hope others out there are doing better than I am. Getting extremely stressed and overly anxious and worried about the imminent loss of income due to the ESA cut off end of April. :(

Thanks will keep updated as ever.

Just had a prompt reply to my email which said:

    "Dear xxxx

    Thank you for your email...

Unfortunately I cannot extradite your application but he can write to the DWP to ask what is happening with your case.

    Kind regards "

Fingers crossed he gets a better response than I can personally!

Actually had a letter with an appointment to assessment later this month! Now I am anxious about this step as I suffer from Agoraphobia. My husband will be there with me as not only is he the driver but he's kind of my carer and a security blanket :o but that doesnt really help with my anxiety as this situation is 'new' if you see the point. I find it hard enough at times to speak on the phone to strangers and uncomfortable situations.

Am so nervous. Yet pleased I finally have an appointment. I only hope the wait and stress turns out to be worthwhile torture!

Turns out I have agoraphobia (thanks nice pdoc I finally got to see after six month wait!) and although the assessment is stressful because of the whole situation it's actually not too awful a process and should be less so with your husband there.

Good luck with it, let us know how you get on.

Have an appointment for this Friday 18th April at 1:30pm with what I gather is a health professional physiotherapist responsible for my consultation on behalf of ATOS and my PIP claim.

Have just realised Friday this week turns out to be Good Friday but I assume they will have known this and my appointment still stands (dont think its classed as a Bank Holiday as such just maybe a lot of people have half days?)

I am so nervous even with knowing my husband is escorting me. Has anyone been through such an assessment and can run me through what kind of things to expect and how long afterwards it will roughly take for a final decision and payout please?

    Thanks :o
