PIP application

I phoned up last Friday evening, about 5:20pm and the call was answered at 5:40pm and I went through the checklist of questions etc on the phone and they said they were sending the pack out to me to complete. I know the phone lines close at 6pm and it's been a week and still no form has arrived in the post.
How long does it take to receive a new PIP claim pack please?
Thank you

I would be inclined to chase it up. Call them back explain you rang last Friday to request a claim pack and it still hasn't arrived.0 -
Thanks. I shall give them until Monday (as stuff like this often turn up at weekends) and if nothing in the post from them then I will chase it up.Failure is only someone elses judgement.

I applied for a PIP pack on 21st June and received it 10th July. I was told when I applied that the forms were taking up to 3 weeks to be sent out and that was nearly the case.
Good luck :-/0 -
It was hoped that the DWP would allow you to fill the PIP form online but given that computers and the DWP are akin to oil and water and given that the DWP aren't there to facilitate sick and disabled people preferring to make their lives even more inconvenient and hard it'll be interesting to see if they will eventually get their act together and allow PIP forms to be filled out online like you could with the DLA form.0

Well nothing came today so if nothing Monday will definately phone them on Monday to chase it up and ask how long their turn around time is currently.

Does anyone know what the current timescale is for receiving a response please?
I am still waiting for a decision!
I requested the form in early July and received it on 15th July.
I submitted the info on 8th August 2013.
On 27th September I rang to check they had received it as hadnt even had a letter to acknowledge anything. They confirmed they had received the claim application and said "it had been sent to assessment on 23rd August where it was being dealt with and I should hear from them in a little while longer".
28th October I rang the PIP helpline again and was told my claim was over with ATOS so to call them.
So I rang and ATOS Healthcare said "they are waiting for an available appointment at a centre for me to attend a face to face assessment interview and will send me the appointment out in post but they couldnt say when or how long I would have to wait."
Its now 30th December and I am still waiting!
I was going to leave it until end January and chase again but it's getting a bit ridiculous now and more than frustrating as I could really do with the extra income plus im getting stressed as my ESA is due to be cut completely end of April (which will terminate all other benefit entitlement suchas Housing and Council Tax so all we will then have if lucky is husbands measly Working Tax Credits which already go to pay all the bills as my ESA goes toward food, I think husband will end up signing on at this rate too as he has little work for a long time now and his being self employed isnt helping either of us) and my bank has just closed my account and cancelled all my DD because they rekon I was overdrawn when I cant have been as none of my online statements show this and not only that the account was a basic one so it simply wouldnt allow me to go overdrawn and I dont spend on it as the household bills are paid out of it and husbands Tax Credits go into it each week and nothing else. My ESA is paid into a different bank entirely which pays for the food we eat and a few other things we have to save money aside for.
I also dont know why I am being asked for a face to face interview when it clearly stated on my application I have a fear of going out and 'strangers' and I wont answer the phone and I am lucky I can pluck up the courage at all to make the calls to chase them about my claim as it is.
I really am starting to get all wound up over this and thats not helping the anxiety and depression and as much as I am in need of this benefit I feel like saying I dont want to continue anymore as its really putting pressure on me I dont like and certainly dont want or need right now.
Great start to a new year.
Thanks for any advice.Failure is only someone elses judgement.

Hi don't know the current timescale and i know the dwp and atos won't give a timescale they just keep reading off a script i applied on 6th of june and had my face to face assessment on 29th of august . i am still waiting its nearly 31 weeks in total.
I haven't rang atos for a few weeks as it is making me worse , i am in need of a mobility scooter if i knew it was going to take this long i could have maybe put a couple of pounds a way here and they and had a second hand one . i also have mental health disorder so going to the assessment was hard and had to make sure i had plenty of notice so i could prepare for it , hope you hear something soon . one thing you could try is getting in touch with your local MP for support .0 -
Hi Crisp £ Note, I am pretty much in the same situation as Smudge. I applied back in July, had the assessment end Sept, still waiting on report to be audited by ATOS and sent back to DWP (as of the 18 Dec). Really wish that I never had requested financial support for my illness in the first place - it has just given me one other thing to worry about. That's my rant over - from personal experience and reading individual forum threads, it appears rather than backlogging any further paperwork - ATOS & CAPITA are backlogging appointments for assessments now. At the assessment, the normal phrase is to ring in 5 weeks to check progress of your report - to find that you are in an audit pile (whereby your assessor's assessment of you is scrutinized to see it is fit for purpose - and if not they then need to be contacted to clarify further and re-write the said reports - you will constantly be told that there is no time scale for this process (28 Weeks is the longest I have heard of so far)) before sending it forward to the DWP decision maker who then has a further 4 weeks to make a decision (though I will note from previous threads - DWP are quick once they finally receive your report). But bare in mind that so far many of us have been waiting the nearly 6 months and are still in the audit pile at ATOS! Of the recent decisions - one poster had nearly five months waiting from beginning to end - then got a telephone call to say that her claim was unsuccessful. Needless to say, every time the phone rings in my house I am nearly in tears, dreading bad news!! After all of this - my only advice for you is to be prepared to dig in for the long haul and hope for the best. Good Luck

Thanks for the replies. By the sound of it I might as well wait till the end of January before I chase them again. If I am eventually successful will the claim be backdated to the day of application or will it just be paid from date of acceptance?
Thanks and happy, healthy and amply wealthy 2014 to all :beer:Failure is only someone elses judgement.

It will usually be from the date of claim - assuming you met the past condition - that is - you had had the limitation for three months.
If you'd only become ill two months before application, it may be granted from the third month of the onset of the condition.0
