Does anyone have a landline number to get thru to enquire about my ESA claim? The 0191 I used to use doesn't work any more
I've looked on SayNoTo0870 and none of the numbers there are of any use.

Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.

Try that.
That no. is 'new claims' and you will be very unlikely to get someone to transfer you to ESA Enquiries, 99.99% unlikely.
The only no. that used to work was the 0191 that was Sunderland BC but it has been removed from service now.
If you get through you can always ask them to call you back, right from the start of the call, most will be very happy to do so....
You can also call when it is quiet and get through straight away, like 8:30am or sometimes 3pm - 3:30pm is quiet,
........ after 4pm forget it, after 5pm :eek:0 -
The ESA phone number is 0845 608 8545 or 0345 608 8545. You can use either of these depending on which is cheaper on your phone package. Good luck.0

Go to your local council offices and use their telephone.0 -
Go to your local council offices and use their telephone.
The council probably won't let you do that I know mine certainly won't
ESA is administered by the DWP not the council ! Why on earth would anyone go to the council over a benefit that isn't even administered by them ! Chuckle!Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...
Pet Peeves.... queues, vain people and hypocrites ..not necessarily in that order.0 -

In that case go to the local jobcentre and use their telephone to call them.
I said about the council cause long time back I used theirs to call HMRC. That's when I couldnt even afford mobile phone credit.
That reminds me you might want to look at a GIFFGAFF PAYG sim. They had free 08 numbers I think.0 -

Jobcentres are removing their customer phones half of all jobcentres have already done so and the remainder will be following suit very quickly.0 -
