Rock, That's exactly the point I made! As I live on my Wifi as I am mostly in the house at the moment and only use the data if I need to if & when I go out.
All the times they have given me for "over usage" Were when I was in the house! They say they also have been charging me that £1 a day usage too!
That's when I shouted how & why!!? When I haven't been turning my Data on!!
Doesn't that tell you, That its not me doing it!!
    Cheeky swines!!
I also proved my point when I was on the phone last night to them, the woman told me that my data was on at this very moment! To witch I shot her down in flames and said "ER NO IT IS NOT! As I am looking right at my drop down box and my data & sync are in the off position!" Funny she shut up after that!!
And started making other excuses like blaming BT!!?? They are nothing but liars!!

Diamonds, Oh thank you for that! I like it! :)

  • Unfortunately diamonds it doesn't itemise data usage. So there's just one big inconsistency in the £19.06 charge for it!

Definitely pop a big red ring around that though!

This is the precise reason I don't switch my data on unless absolutely necessary! (I am Kerry's best friend who has had multiple Orange issues

I'm glad somebody else is having this problem!!

I had this issue last year and after speaking to customer services was told that I had used a significant amount of data (and was accused of watching videos) on a specific date (which was the date I had moved into my new university house and I didn't have a spare 5 minutes in my day let alone time to watch videos on my phone). I told them this and was accused of lying to the point where I began to regret complaining as it wasn't getting anywhere so I decided just to leave it.
I was surprised that this has just happened AGAIN with my recent bill, I have a 1GB allowance and I apparently used 1884MB of data within a month. After looking over previous bills I average usage of around 600MB a month, and this is during months when I'm out of the house the majority of the day, everyday. However during the past month I've only left the house on a few occasions and I have been connected to the free wi-fi at pubs, in restaurants and at friends houses. When I've been at home I've been connected to my wi-fi.
I have just checked my account and my remaining data for this month is 639MB...my month started on the 8th so this is suggesting in 5 days I have used 361MB of data. However I've only been out of the house and away from wi-fi on one of these days and only used my mobile internet for the odd checking of facebook and using apps like weather, twitter and snapchat. I'm now actually scared to use my phone when I'm not connected to wi-fi.

This is saying to me that something fishy is going on, especially as its around the same time of year that it happened to me last time (not sure if this is a coincidence or not).

What none of these examples state is that you have proof that you have not used the data. I originally decided to stay out of this one but nobody has questioned it. There are many apps out there that track your data usage and could have been used to support your claims.

Just because you normally use 600MB it does not mean you cant have used over 1GB the next month. 1GB doesn't always go that far.

For all I know, or Orange know, you could have used the data without realising. I am not saying you are a liar but be prepared to have to prove it is incorrect.

b1505: snapchat can use quite a bit of data in comparison to say whatsapp when you start sending videos.

No need to get personal. She's far from objectionable and don't make judgement on someone you know nothing about. After a 6 month battle with Orange CS staff so stupid that amongst other howlers they made they couldn't understand that a) my brother is not my husband and b) what relation my brother actually is to me I can understand why she lost her rag. They are cheeky swines and i could post quite a lot of their pearls of wisdom that are pretty cheeky and i think accusing customers of lying on a regular basis is pretty cheeky (been there, done that) Bleat all you like pay up and shut up but when you don't have 45 to pay for data you've not even used then its a bit of a problem isn't it? Read her signature why don't you?

Why has no one checked how much data they have actually used and presented it as evidence to Orange?

The vast majority of handsets have a data counter built in,nowadays, and on an Android device like the OP's S3, you can even see how much data you used on specific dates.

Far better to have this information as part of your argument against the charges than banal statements like "I can't have used it I was at home" or "I normally use much less" which hold no weight at all.

Keith1950, If you had read my original comment correctly you would see I did not actually call them "cheeky swines" on the phone I merely made a passing comment about CS while typing. I'm sorry but from my experience that's EXACTLY how they behave!

RE my Credit File, I currently don't give a fig about my credit file as Captial One have trashed that quite nicely on their own for me! Thank you Cap One!!
(And that's another story for another day & topic.)

Excuse me! How dare you call me an "objectionable little s**t!"
Did your Mother never teach you any manners young man?
And please refrain for commenting on something that you obviously know nothing about. You have know idea the mass amount of problems I have previously had with Orange!
So I'm sorry if I "offend you" with losing my rag after this little gem that's been thrown up by Orange but I think any sane person would!
If you are happy to pay for something that you clearly haven't used well that is your prerogative young man, but it is certainly not mine to just roll over and take it!

Have you never had any problems with Orange?
I'm thinking not otherwise you would have not made that above comment.
I really feel sorry for you when something does go wrong for you, Because if you don't get a little in there faces nothing will get done from my experience.

I also do not care for your correcting my spelling either, Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things?? I think not. *Shakes head* End.

Techhead, Yes, But I didn't need to as I know my data is always off as is my sync data. The only time its on is when I am quickly checking my email. To WHICH I am meticulous about turning off after every use. End.

At the end of the day the fact still remains that it seems I am not the only one having data problems with Orange for this months bill or problems per say at this present time.

My DD was cancelled on Friday as I DO NOT have the funds to pay for THEIR error as I am currently Self employed.

Not that it is anybody`s business, but I have just paid my NORMAL monthly amount inc vat (£20) to Orange via their website as I am not UNWILLING to pay them I'm just Unwilling to pay for their computer data error! (£16.66)

I will be amending my Original post a little as I'm going to send the link to this forum to Orange!

Forgot to add in my post that I had been using an app to track my data usage which said i'd used 364MB. I sent this to Orange on Friday but I am still yet to receive a response. As well as this on my iPhone there is a bit on the setting about mobile data used. I haven't reset this since September and it says I have used 3.2GB of data since then. However adding up all the data that my bills claim I have used since then and it's well over 6GB...
I only use Snapchat occasionally and when I do it's only for sending pictures, not used it for videos at all.
