Wifi problems

Hi I have got a problem with my wifi I am with sky broadband and have had no issues with this until now.
My problem is I now cannot connect to wifi even with a full wifi signal showing on the laptop, The internet is working fine on the laptop if I use a Ethernet cable but nothing if I go for wifi but just checking my phone and my phone will connect to the wifi.
Does anyone know what the problem could be

any help would be appreciated thanks

It might help if you gave a bit more information, such as what OS your computer uses and what error messages are being shown.

For instance - if you're on Win 8 then make sure you haven't accidentally switched 'Flight Mode' to ON, for example.

Get it? Now use it before you lose it.
    or - Try
using it - not losing it. ;)

Have you tried right-clicking on the Network icon in the tasktray and selecting 'Troubleshoot problems'?

    EDIT

Sorry - I also have Win8 but have cut out those icons and stuff that Microsoft tried to shove down out throats. Mine now runs with pretty much the same look as Win7 and I can resize those full page icons so they act like normal windows. Makes it a bit awkward though when trying to help someone with the original layout.

I've just had to hunt around to see where the 'Troubleshoot problems' is located in the original Win8. I found it in 'Control Panel' > 'Network & Sharing Centre', if you still have the original look.

You may possibly have two things trying to use the network, but both trying to use the same IP address. I think that the Troubleshooter will check for that though.

Or you can right click the wireless icon on the desktop task bar.
