GP we decluttered most of our CD s to Music Magpie and earned a few ££££. It's easy to do. HthNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Oooh biriyani looks lovely!
Glad the decluttering is starting to gather pace - even if it has taken *some* (read lots!) of patience!
I have quite a startling book collection but I can't seem to part with them - I really should and free up space but I'm rather attached![STRIKE]Credit Card 17.9% = £460 paid off 2013[/STRIKE]!

Lovely biryani GP - one of my favourites. Good news on the decluttering too by OH - bet he thought it was his idea all along!
Having work done here on drive so noisy and messy but needs must. Shutting myself away in the study doing meal plan for March. Need to save some cash to pay for work.0 -
Hello GP, bread making was a success:j, used recipe out of Baker brothers book for their white tin loaf. It was so easy, and I also made some shortbread when the oven was hot. Though I will need to buy a proper loaf tin, but now I know it is worth investing in one. Currently have a square loaf as it was the only tin big enough in my cupboard.
Hoping you have a good day.:)It is the job that is never started that takes the longest to finish. Tolkien.Save 12k in 2025 No 18 365 1p challenge 2025 No 20 -
little_sweetie - I so could have used a 'chippy tea' tonightAlas, I'd be cursing myself if I'd have succumbed, as that elusive thing called 'a decent chippy' is clearly still not available in these 'ere parts
Lawks! I hope you are not going to be disappointed with what we
ended up having..... it was a bit 'ordinary'
Poor thing, I wish I could send you some of our lovely local chips, Greying. However.... your biryani was not at all disappointing :dance:it looks yummy! But why do men begin 'jobs' when dinner is nearly ready? :think: :wall:Sealed Pot Challenge #012

Good Evening :hello:
oooh, visitors, how luverly
Piq - blue liquid = antifreeze = death if you drink it, is how I was raised......;)
mrsinvisible - I'm sure I know nothing of brewing..... that's just in case HMC&E are reading..... Mmm, I can see your line of thought though. But the last thing I heard about a home brew of that nature was that the dang thing blew up, taking at least 1, if not 2 folk with it..... Perhaps some things are better left to the professionalsTa for popping in
Ellidee - you are brill and I am a plank! Of course, we discussed MM the other week didn't we? Doh, I feel so stoopid now. But you know what, and from your comments Dear Reader, I know that you will get this.... DP has taken forever to budge on this issue, but now that he has (slightly) the CD's had been on the side for less than a day - but in a place that stuff exiting the house has been left previously (I expect I shall be sat in that place one day, in me little box....) and DP was on at me to take them to the charity shop - he even specified the charity! The dang things had been gathering dust for years, and all of a sudden it's imperative that they are out of the house! :rotfl:Right, MM will get the rest! Thanks for the reminder Ellidee - mucho appreciated
kem 10 - DP and I were chatting the other night, and I can say, hand on heart, that there is nothing that I have charity shopped in the last 2 years that I regret giving away. I am glad that I didn't end up giving away my 2 food flasks and the ice-cube trays, as they have become useful for yoghurt making, but nothing else has even caused me to think, 'I wish I hadn't....' isn't that odd? and we've not much stuff!
sonas_baby - you and little_sweetie are on fire with your culinary creations! Smashing and wonderful to hear about. Oooh yes, to waiting until you are sure for the loaf tin. I decluttered a load of bread tins to the charity shop - sadly some time ago and a lot of miles away from you, but something to look out for - unless you had a specific size/shape or type in mind.
little_sweetie - chaps begin jobs just before their dinner, because they really believe that it will only take 10 minutes :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:**Greying slips a pound noot to Pippi for the namecheck on t'other thread......**
AGirlWrites - Hello and WelcomeHave a look at THIS POSTand it will fill you in on all you need to know about the pizza base. hth
So, I got a NSD :j Tis getting squeaky tight though
Dinner this evening was very late, as DP decided to pootle around doing 'man stuff' again tonight..... *sigh*, so I purposely took my time over making dinner, and got thoroughly absorbed in what I was doing in the kitchen. We'd just finished dinner and the non-gardening parental rang to alert us of the latest bargains in mrM - £4.99 for a 50 wash box of P3rsil, just in case you need to know
So, much as I would like to claim that we went to North Africa for our dinner tonight, that we went for a wander around the souk, ate street food, got given the secret of a long and happy love life from a stall holder who was 107 with a boyfriend who was claiming to be 93... (looked a tad younger if I'm honest.....) came away with some of her special herbs and spices and made it home in time for 'Stenders. You'd all know I was telling a tall tale..
However, our lentil soup was based on the ethiopian lentil wat dish - flavoured with berbere spice and lemon. The flat bread was flavoured with a recipe idea from Jaymee O - it was in one of his first books - either nAked or return I think..... basically it was (cooked) chickpeas smashed up with coriander and cumin seed (plus I threw in some nigella seeds) and incorporated into the dough before cooking. In addition, I made some harissa oil and drizzled this onto the soup. Picture here;
You'll have to forgive the scraggy auld teatowel, my bread cloth as it was the only thing to hand that stopped the flatbreads merging into the chopping board, as they were virtually the same colour :rotfl:
I wish I had put more hot chilli into the soup along with more ginger - far from lovely sunshine, I got drenched twice today, and cut in two by an absolutely chilling to the bone wind. Hope I don't come down with something.
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
for the time to do something that I really enjoy
for hot money-saving tips! - who needs the internet when you've an army of thrifty seniors at your disposal
for the update on the health and well-being of folks from the non-gardening parental's side of the family - they are all doing grand and running rings around the younger generations.... :rotfl:
Thank you so much for popping in, reading and commenting. I greatly appreciate it.
See y'all later.

Ooo, I don't think the non-gardening parental would object to being called that.... anything with 'old' in the title, yes. But 'thrifty' and 'senior' - I reckon they'd be buffing their halo at that
