Tenant in arrears should i fix washing machine

Don't know if u can help with this but here goes:
I have a tenant currently £790 in arrears (nearly 2 months) my claim for possession was suspended to give her chance to pay back what she owes £50 per month.she has now advised the washing machine is broken and can I get it fixed. I'm not really in a position to pay out and really feel like why should I. Am I within my rights to refuse until the arrears is paid

Others can advise if you're entitled to refuse to fix it; but I'm pretty certain its not something you'd have to treat as top priority, so could drag it out a little in theory. Thank you. I did not mean to re post. I'm new to this and when I logged on it said i hadn't posted anything hence the new thread. Limey very sensitive on here. Will be deactivating account and just use my solicitor from now on. Pointless!!0

I'm really sorry that this part of the free forum Moneysavingexpert.com, a subsection populated by a large number of tenants, hasn't provided you the service that you would normally expect from your £150 an hour solicitor advising you how to avoid your contractual obligation to maintain your tenants home.
I can't imagine what has gone wrong but I am sure Martin Lewis will be along soon to deal with the matter personally.0 -
