Has anybody ever successfully used this company? Desperate to sell property - been offered similar amount to what I would make at auction - just worried about being ripped off!

yes ...positive of course, I just know that these companies get bad press so wondered if anyone had real life experience of them.

Hopefully the responses you've had are helpful. I'd definitely go to auction in preference to dealing with this type of company - going to auction gives you a clear sales process, with the winning bidder committed as soon as the hammer falls. 'Quick buy' companies, on the other hand, can lead to more problems
  • Hi PP64, I just saw your original post and was wondering if you decided to use the Property Sourcing Bureau as we are thinking of using them but I'm just trying to find out any info I can on them. Or has anyone got any success stories from using them?

I have just done a google search on them - comes up with a raft of negative experiences, all recent. Dropping price agreed at last minute, false assurances, bullying behaviour and so on. This type of company prey on people who are in desperate financial straits and take advantage of this vulnerability.

My suggestion would be to keep well away. If you need help with financial matters like debt post on the Debt Free board on here as a start to getting some ideas about your options.
  • I am really surprised these guys are still in business. I dealt with them last year and it was a horrible experience.

I'm at the end of my tether with them. I agreed to go with them in January, because they said they could sell my house in 8-10 weeks, and I needed the money, mortgage arrears etc. It's now almost July, and they have just come to me with an offer lower than the one promised, and I am going to be forced to go with it, as they have registered an interest in my property, and I am now even more desperate for the cash. Is there any way of getting this company stopped? They are dodgy, but I don't know if they are actually breaking the law.

Why have they registered an interest in your property?

  • I was fortunate to have the finances to wait them out. They registered an interest in my property as well. It was registered on the basis of the 6 month option contract I signed with them. I had postings on here before about their business practices but they pressured me to remove them. It might be in your best interest to file a form UN4 with the land registry to remove the unilateral notice. It will at least force the company to justify it's reason to register it. No cost to you so I think it's worth a shot.

Try complaining to Trading Standards. If they get a large number of complaints about a company, the do investigate.
