    Now for the techie stuff!
I can (just about) set up OE for our e-mail accounts.
How would I set up Thunderbird, what settings/info do I need?
I have a Tiscali.co.uk address, my other half has an fsmail.net address.

AFAIR fsmail is not POP3 capable - you won't be able to access it through any client.

Tiscali is POP3 - use this page for the settings.

And superscaper's correct on how to remove Outlook Express, assuming you're using XP.

    Thanks for responses folks.
Just heard back from Orange, fsmail.net is not POP capable.
Looks like OH will have to move to a spare Tiscali address of mine ..... or not use Thunderbird.
