Feeling overwhelmed- Need a pep talk!
Comments
-
The title of the thread says pep talk. If someone wants a "pep talk" that does not imply the serious mental illness the majority of posters in this thread are alluding to. If the OP had said I'm clinically depressed/suicidal/what should I do, then yeah, for sure see your GP.
Someone who wants a pep talk needs a little boot up the back side. So which is it? Serious mental illness requiring medical intervention or a pep talk?
I guess you're qualified to make the judgement are you?
As an aside, like I said before, you don't really understand mental health do you? You seem very ignorant about anxiety and the impact an anxiety disorder has."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Again for the 2nd time you are wrong. My wife has had issues with anxiety and mental health issues so I am fully aware of the impacts. Now go find somebody else to patronise.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -

"change a pad?" really... what if my female problems were the cause of my anxiety? Not so funny now.
Oldest school of thought, if you have nothing kind to say, then say nothing at all.
All that said, previous posters have done exactly what I was calling for, a bit of sense and calm. I apprecaite that anyone takes the time to post and when I can, I like to think reciprocate.
FYI, Pep talk means to boost moral or instil confidence in someone - saying mtfu is just a snarky dig at someone when you don't know the full issue.
MTFU/Change your pad/1st world problems... all a bit of light hearted humour. Sometimes the perfect tonic when one needs a pep talk. If you haven't posted the full issue how on earth can you expect people to respond appropriate to your needs.
If you're that down, you shouldn't be looking for a pep talk or platitudes on the internet dude, you should be with your GP.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -

Does anyone else have days like this? I can’t see logic or reason right now L
I think this incident of your teeth getting chipped, and the prospect of having to pay out to fix this, is the straw that broke the camels back. Is it likely that you are feeling totally overwhelmed at the moment, worried about money and how you are going to be rid of your debt, because of the main reason why you want to be debt free? Whilst your debt remains and things happen that add to it or make it harder to clear, the plans that you have for your life seem to get further and further away from happening. This could go a long way to explain the feelings you describe experiencing above and why you are struggling to stay rational and calm. Sending you a big hug as you have been under a lot of pressure for some time. I hope things settle down and you feel much happier soon. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
I have very anxious days OP. Days where i think everything in the world is wrong and everyone hates me. This happens to me perhaps once a month and I am quite visably shakey and jumpy throughout the day. Not anything in particular can set it off and normally lasts 1 or 2 days before I am back to normal.
It's awful, and I have never found a way of dealing with it to be honest other than to ride the storm. I tell me OH when im feeling shakey, and he gives me plenty of cuddles which really helps.
I do think its a cullumination of little stresses - work/etc that build up in to a physical symptomThe opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
I get days like these, I jog along quietly juggling everything, but every once in a while something can tip the balance and I do my nut

I had a wobbly just this morning
still feeling a bit twitchy, but will even out again soon.
Stop feeling the chips on your teeth with your tongue

Thank you for posting this - if I knew you in person I'd give you a massive hug! You've hit the nail on the head, so close to the bone actually it makes me tear up! I feel like I've made a huge decision to face up to a lot of things this year but of course in deciding to do that it brings with it a lot of pressure to face. Maybe it's true, ignorance is bliss- but it doesn't stop you getting debt free or moving forward with life...
Thanks again
Some times you have to hold back to go forward to where you want to be.
