Chorlton is nice, the best areas are around Chorlton green and the prices are ok.
In the north then Prestwich is a better area.
You will get crime in most areas you just need to be careful about not making it too easy.0 -
I'm with everyone else, Didsbury is lovely and I haven't heard that much about the crime rate being particularly high over there. It has some great restaurants (the LIme Tree - always fabulous) and I always love going over there. Chorlton is lovely too, but it does have a bit of a crime problem.
Quite frankly everywhere seems to have a problem with burglaries nowadays.0 -
I'll get looking in Chorlton then, Didsbury village looks nice too.
I have a colleague who started last week, a lady from Manchester in fact. My excitement of running areas by her led me to pronounce Chortlon-!!!-hardy as Chorlton-!!!-harder. Needless to say it was a very embarrassing experience.0 -
I asked several people yesterday about Cheetham Hill and they all said it was a dump and definitely don't go there. I personally love Chorlton and would live there in a second but my other half thinks it's full of hippies who plait their armpit hair and won't go near it. Shame - it has a brilliant fish monger, bakery and organic food store, plus a great yoga studio.0
