This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

  • Good morning everyone :)

Still very warm here but started to cloud over yesterday evening and seems to be the same this morning. Pretty sure it will stay dry though so the washing is already on the line.

Something with minced beef for dinner, probably home made burgers. Salad for lunches.

Am glad I am off tomorrow and then it's the weekend, bring it on! DH is one day away from finishing his A level marking :j

Better get moving. Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day :)

    Morning everyone :j

It's going to be another scorching day here and I have to go out today. I have an appointment with my psychiatrist this morning but I'm hoping she will discharge me today as I've been so well. ( there should be a fingers crossed smiley here!)

Hubby packed off to work and just organising the girls with their lunches etc. Had three excellent reports from them so I'm very proud. :D Only a few more days left in school and then we can all relax for the summer. We are not going on holiday this year but I want to do a few day trips...finances permitted....as we are very lucky to live in a holiday area so there are quite a few different places to go to.

Umming and Ahhing about dinner tonight. The tacos yesterday were a bit hit with clean plates all round but I think it's going to be a use up day today with all the opened packs in the freezers.

Evil kittens are destroying our home with them clawing at our leather sofas and computer chairs. I am hopeful that they will quit it soon...hubby is threatening them with all sorts of dire punishments but he is a big softy as he is often to be found laying on the sofa with the kittens curled up on his tummy fast asleep.:rotfl:

Anyway, I am going to sort out the washing and get it on the line this morning before I go out so sending hugs to all who would like one.
    Cheers m'dears x

Good morning chums last day of decorating today the builder had the day off yesterday as he went golfing instead :):) I didn't mind as I had the gardener here anyway He only has to rehang the doors and do some wall lights and hang my new fire in the firplace. Then tomorrow I have my new carpet down and I shall have a smart new sitting room I got the sofa covers washed and dried yesterday and treated myself to a new throw for my relaxer chair from M&S
School run shortly then just a pottering day once the builder has gone just putting things back into my sitting room and de-cluttering stuff that I really don't need anymore. Now its almost done I don't want to clutter the room up with unnecessary stuff
Hope everyone has a good day I am also going to make a veggie curry from the veg thats getting past its best at the bottom of the fridge
    Cheers chums

    Morning everyone

Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x

Cloudy overcast and dull start to the day here, cooler but not cold. Washing on the line. Plants to be watered.

DH up and off to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was roast stuffed chicken breast, HG new pots, carrots, broccolli, green beans, yorkshires and gravy, dessert from the tins/fridge. Not definitely decided what we will be having for dinner tonight - may be fish, chips and beans for the menfolk and fish, jacket potato and veg for me. I'm still being really good with the diet and it looks like I may have lost a bit more - so feeling encouraged this morning - would love to get down a bit more before we go on our hols - will just keep going. Have to be honest I don't find it that difficult in this hot weather as I don't feel like eating a heavy meal.

Managed to get the ironing done yesterday afternoon after work so the bulk of that job is out of the way, will iron what's on the line once it's dry today. I want to get cracking with some housework as the whole house feels like a pit at the moment. Will also try to tidy and put away all the clothes that we've bought back from the caravan as they are laying/hanging in the bedrooms. Will try today to have a quick check of the holiday clothes to see if anyone needs anything and also see what fits me and what doesn't - sorted through my wardrobe last week to find a pair of cropped jeans that I like to wear in the summer - put them on and the literally hang off me and are so baggy they're unwearable so that's something else that I can't wear but I have another pair that when I find them think they will be wearable. (I hope!)

Will plod along today - kitchen needs a good clean so will try to get on top of this today.

Have a good day - remember the suncream if you're out in the sun!

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning all,
Not as grey here as yesterday but definitely warmer.

Had an awful time before I went to bed last night between missing bf terribly and my throat driving me to tears :-( not so bad this morning though and hopefully the test results will be back when I call the GP this afternoon.

Found out yesterday that bf returns the day before I thought from Belgium so isn't most pleased at a night alone but secretly think it will be a good thing. Everyone says I follow what he says/wants too closely, a fact I can not deny, so it will be better for me to be more independent even if it is only for 18hours :-P

Leaving much earlier for work so that I can finish a little early and get home as I want to get a chunk of cleaning done - could do with bottoming the kitchen although I might not quite manage that and I have plenty of bf's bits and bobs lying round that I want to get put away!

Lunch today is going to be a cuppa soup and fruit as I am feeling lazy and don't fancy another salad. For tea i think it will be chile and rice or sausage, beans and mash - depending on how warm it is and what I fancy. I may turn the chile and rice in to a burrito actually with some salad and wraps from the freezer that sounds appealing.

Need to get out of the office on lunch today as I'm getting a touch of cabin fever at work so I will go in to town as I have seen two dresses I would like to look at and I need to find a b'day present for bf's dad.

Well I had better get one and get dressed for work! Will pop back later. Hugs to Those that want/need them, hope any poorlies are feeling better
