Hello
I made the school boy error of not opting for the upgrade (£49) for the above when joining.
To upgrade now its £149. Can anyone please kindly advise how it would be best to get it reduced in price, thanks

It depends upon whether you’re still within any “cooling-off” period for commencing your contract. That, in turn, hinges upon the manner by which you entered into it.
If you are, you can repudiate the contract. (Or re-negotiate it, under threat of repudiating it, if you still want Sky.)
If not, Sky has you by the nuts for 12 months and won’t be interested in giving you anything.Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance

LOL thanks...
Eight months into my contract so I guess it is pay or stay put. Oh well, lesson learned0 -
You can always fit your own Two Terror Bite Disk.

Well, looking on the bright side, you've already served eight months, now – they’ve only got their handcuffs on you for another four.
In three months’ time you can give Sky its 31 days’ notice of cancellation and, hopefully, get a 2TB box for £50 during any process of negotiation that then takes place.
Last time we renegotiated, we were offered a 50% discount for 12 months, either on a rolling one-month contract or with a 2TB box for £50 but on a new 12-month minimum contract.
An alternative that you may like to consider is this. The price includes transferring your existing recordings to the new hard drive – which is handy.
I may go that route myself; it depends on what we’re offered by Sky next time we renegotiate.
