Yes it is bio, the best non-bio for keeping whites white has to be Fairy. It could be worth keeping a premium brand for whites and using own brand for work gear.
I did, in a particularly tight month, use the Sainsbury's basics liquid, but it was a bit of a false economy because I have to us twice as much for the same result.
I would give the Aldi one a go as it seems to get good reviews, but we don't have one here.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I am another who can vouch for Aldis and it doesn't trigger mine or my DD's excemaBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

we all have ridiculous skin that flares up in a panic if exposed to biological or scented laundry items. So unfortunately I couldn't use or recommend either. But before the kids were born I used to use whatever I grabbed, and honestly saw no difference between the higher priced and own brand ones (given that I could never use biological) except for the amount of perfume.
One of the things about perfume in laundry products is that becasue you are wearing clothes doused in the same perfume all day, your brain stops recognising the smell (because it's so constantly part of your environment). So the clothes can smell overpowering to others in the vicinity but not register at all to you. Add scented soaps/shower gels and shampoos, with perhaps aftershave or perfume over the top, and when some people walk in the room I am gasping for air with the overpowering and frankly horrible combination of clashing smells.
As long as I properly seperate whites, light and dark colours and wash at an appropriate temperature my clothes are always clean, I use less than they recommend per wash and I don't iron anything. for the stains that I know probably won't get out with a normal wash I presoak for half an hour (kids clothes mainly, whatever orange stuff they are fed at school, with grass stains, mud , results of a nosebleed etc!) and then they come out fine.

I used to love Bold but now I actually prefer Ariel.
None of them irritate our skin or anything thankfully.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

We are a really heavy soil household. Dirty dog washing, and yard /smallholding washing along side normal household washing....perhaps that's why,
I would try soaking. Make up a diluted solution of your non-bio and soak overnight. Then hot as possible. Worth a try?0 -
As this has dropped down OS, I've moved it to Shopping and groceries so you can get some more input
Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Me too. Bold is ok, but I always think it needs extra fabric con, so no different to any other powder.0 -
'Easy' washing liquid from the £1 shop or similar (made by Jeyes I think), half a capful of that with a couple of scoops of Oxiclean (also from the £1 shop) and a scoop of washing soda.
I wash everything on 30 degrees, it all comes out beautifully clean, plus using the soda means my machine doesn't get furred up.0 -
LIR - what sport of off-mains drainage? We have a (modern) water treatment plant for waste water and have used bio powders for years with no problems.
As for detergent, nothing I've found matches Aerial.0
