Hi All,
We are looking to get Sky in our home and are a bit confused by the packages.
What is the difference between Sky Entertainment Extra and Sky Entertainment Extra+? Is it something to do with HD?
Any help would be great

Hi,
Before going down the pay-tv route, have you considered Freesat?
www.freesat.co.uk
Depends what your viewing needs are likely to be, however, Freesat is subscription free (you pay for the receiver and satellite dish) and the hardware supports recording, HD (high-definition) broadcasts + i-player programmes from the BBC & ITV. If you already have an old Sky dish aligned to your home, it's likely that all you will need to purchase is the Freesat receiver (just plug it to the existing satellite cable, search for channels & you're up and running).
Sky is a more obvious choice for dedicated subjects like sport & movies, however, receiving such channels can be an expensive business, package costs build very quickly and the initial contract can be up to 12 months long (meaning that if you decide it is costing too much, you will still have to honour the remainder of the agreement before you can cancel the subscription).
Think carefully before entering any contract and setting up direct debits since subscripton fees (& price rises!) will be automatically deducted from your bank account.0 -

Your reply fails to address in any way whatsoever the question asked by the OP. :wall:
balconyj,
The basic pack is called "Entertainment". You get this:

"Entertainment Extra" gives you more channels. These:

Both those packs are in SD only.
"Entertainment Extra +" gives you the "Entertainment Extra" channels and adds HD and 3D to some of them. More details here:

Ah. Thank you! I thought it must be something to do with HD!0

I believe you only get access to the on-demand boxsets with Entertainment Extra + too so that's worth taking into account.0

That was one of the things that we were attracted to with Sky so I think that looks like the package for us0
