Yet my husband has two credit cards and earns double than me and is able to take out more credit.
Weird I know but my credit report has no defaults and shows most of the credit I have had is settled.

And you haven't trigged that this is the most likely reason that he can take out more credit than you?

    No?
I don't know how Experian credit scoring works (just like a lot of other people).

Salary has nothing to do with the Experian score though. Their 'score' means very little. They are not a lender. Lenders score you on data from the application form as well as your credit file. Salary is a key driver. Afterall, if you don't earn the dosh then how are you going to repay the debt?

I guess everyone got the letter about Tesco bank changing their account details, so I changed my standing order in June but forgot to put the payment reference as my card number so the payment got rejected. Tesco agreed to refund the late payment fee of £12 and so I amended the standing order correctly while on the phone with them and they agreed it was set up correctly. Came to check my bank account today and the july payment was rejected for the second time, checked with Tesco and all payment details correct, they wouldn't refund the £12 late payment fee for july and so I paid the payment over the phone and Tesco said it must be my banks fault. Rang Santander and they said its going through and is set up correctly but being rejected by Tesco, rang Tesco again to confirm what the bank said and they can find nothing wrong, so had to cancel standing order and have now set up direct debit with them for the 4/8.

All in all a bit of a pain but sorted now. Just £12 down.

Anyone else had this problem with Tesco?

Don't ignore this. If you confirmed the details you set up on the standing order on the phone with Tesco, and those WERE the details you put in on your on-line banking, then either Tesco or your Bank has cocked up.

Right now you're sitting on 2 late payments in your credit history that shouldn't be there (okay, the first one should because that was your fault, but the second needs to be removed - only the company that made the error can do that for you).

So put a complaint in at Tesco, get them to listen to the call and if the details were indeed correct AND the same as you put on your on-line banking complain to your bank. If they weren't correct, then it's Tesco's error.

    Kind regards,
    Cal
