Santander cash withdrawal in Spain

Taking some cash on holiday to Spain but will also run out. Is the Santander offer to allow you to withdraw cash a good deal or would I be better using a clarity card for a cash advance and transferring the money from my current account to pay off the credit card on the same day?

From Santander's website:All main adult bank current accounts (those which are credited with at least £500 per month) can benefit from free cash machine withdrawals in Spain at a Santander branded cash machine
That seems to say that you won't pay any fees at all... However, personally I'd use the Clarity card, as it will give you the same deal with any ATM.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon

Only intend making one withdrawal so will use the Clarity and transfer cash from Santander the same day.
Just sent a £1 payment to my Halifax Card to ensure the money gets through.
Would be interesting to know the difference between the two.0 -
I use my Santander 123 debit card in the Canaries - saves a bit of messing around transferring to the Clarity (could knock a couple of minutes off your drinking time..!), the Santander ATM is the nearest to where I stay anyway.
Haven't bothered checking difference in Visa/Mastercard rates for a long time - odd few pence over a few hundred quids last time I looked.0 -
This is also something I was worrying about, I have a Santander Cash card would it be possible to withdraw cash for an affordable cost in Magaluf ? or should i just bring a lot of cash in hand0

All main adult current accounts (those which are credited with at least £500 per month) could benefit from free cash machine withdrawals in Spain.Simply use your Santander Debit Card in a Santander branded cash machine in Spain to receive the withdrawal fee free. This means: No Cash Handling Fee AND No Foreign Exchange Fee will be charged.
We will not charge you for using a cash machine abroad but the cash machine operator may make a charge. If you're given the option of paying in local currency or sterling, please make sure you choose the local option. If you choose sterling, it means that the retailer or bank will handle the conversion and may charge you a conversion fee or a foreign usage fee (or both).0 -
Would that also apply to Tenerife anyone?#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
