Thank you for your kind words SS, I know that we are really close now and because of this I feel totally out of order for getting down about it.
Everyone on here is doing an amazing job at either getting debt free or money saving by working together and supporting each other (well most of us anyway)
I am just so worried about going over budget, and having to wait yet another month to be debt free.0 -
Silkglade .Just want to say you have done so so well so far.
Just one last push & you will be there.
Can you just do a really really basic shop this week for nappies & wipes, beans & toast, egg & chips ect ect.

You can do it on £47. Think £10 petrol= £37 food. If you can stretch the nappies out a little bit now the weathers warm that could help? Don't stick a nappy on when LO is out in the garden. I'm sure you can get a pack of nappies for <£4. They are quite reasonable too. That leaves you £33 for food. Do you have any freezer stock?
If you have nothing in then get some quorn bangers 79p for 6 (1/2 price at Mr T) and make toad in the hole with loads of veggies. Have cauliflower and broccoli cheese for tea one night. How about tuna and tomato and pasta bake? Pilchard pie (tin of pilchards mixed with mash). Cheese rolls for lunches (if you buy sliced cheese it is more expensiver per kg but you only use the thickness of one slice and can trim the slice to fit the roll= 2 rolls from 1 slice!). Porridge with value sultanas for breakfast. Soak overnight with a bit of water and add milk to make a little more palatable in the morning! If you are out of cleaning products then just buy washing up liquid and non bio washing powder (cheapest brand). Use leftover shampoo to clean the bathroom with and your loo and washing up liquid to clean your kitchen.
I'll bet you can do it- after all you have done it before! Just buy cheap and filling veggies and have soup for tea one night.
I do think you are doing the right thing with the credit card going first. If I am correct then it makes no difference paying off car insurance mid term. I would use that time to try and save up for next years premiums. You have done so well in paying off so much in under 18 months! You'll get there and don't beat yourself up over it all - a washing machine is an essential not some frivilous item you need to think I really should have done that... So pat yourself on the back and think we're nearly there!0

Hi Silkglade. I know it must be frustrating having your debtt free date put back. Have you thought about setting yourself a small challenge to see how cheaply you can get your insurance and washing machine for ( don't forget to check the cashback websites). It might just help you hang in there.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement. It really means alot to me.
I think part of the problem yesterday was that I was also starting 3 12 hour shifts, and it's the last thing you want to do when the weather is like this0 -

Hi everyone, just wanting to update you all.
I have paid £610 off the final credit card on 22nd and I am planning to pay the final amount off it on the 9th July, the hard part is getting through to the 24th July.
We have £240 to last till payday (24th July) and this week should be quite a cheap one as we only need to buy 2 meals to last the whole week, some party bits for DD 2nd birthday party (on thurs) which we recon we will be eating leftovers on the Friday. and dog food!
Wish us luck!!!!0
