new card to replace my geforce 4 card.

I am looking for a new graphics card as the fans on the one i have are broken.

my motherboard is the Asus A7N8X deluxe currently running a winfast geforce 4 4600 ti graphics card. I also need an output to digital TV.

I could get new fans these ones will cost me about £19 including p&p, but i think a cheap new graphic card might be a better option and more exciting!. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

if you aren't playing games then simply chose the cheapest gfx card you can find. Otherwise if you want exciting buy the most expensive you can, get some watercooling for it and overclock the card.

you need to spend a little more than £20 to pay new games even with the new 8 series low end cards put you mite get a 7 series agp a lot cheaper some thing like 256MB Inno3D GeForce 7600GS for about £70 or 6 series for about £20/£30 at pc world, and then you have the ATI cards put i am not up on them 256MB ATI Radeon 9250
put playing new games will be hard work

If you're keeping the mainboard, you will need to get another AGP card. Because this is older technology the GeForce 7950 GT is about top of the shop for games.

Someone else asked this recently: Thread

The Nvidia GeForce 7950 GT is a very nice card (I have a PCI Express one) but it would set you back £170 or so.
An ATI\AMD Radeon X1950 Pro is slightly faster, cheaper at £135 but demands a high quality power supply.
A Nvidia 7600GS is rather slower than the cards above but can be had for about £60.

I wonder if the more expensive cards would be unjustified given the rest of your system?
