Vodafone - At wits end
Got a great deal last year (June 2012) through phones 4u and HTC One X on a 24 month contract at £34 a month.
300 min, 500mb, Unlimited Calls
The 24 month was the clincher so please don’t post I can get better minutes etc. etc.
Vodafone could not set up my online account to view things, for months it kept saying I needed to authorise myself as an account user. I read on other Forums this was a big problem for Vodafone.
After 6 months into the contract I got to view my account online, apart from that the phone was good, I was happy with the cost.
Then Feb 13, I get a call from a guy at Vodafone who says if I am prepared to take a 12 month sim only contract, my monthly price will drop to £10.50 a month and I will get the same mins, mbs, and text as I currently get.
No brainer as my remaining 5 months @ £34 now reduce to £10.50.
Everything seems to be going swimming until I find out my data allowance is not now 500mb it’s been cut to 250mb.
I use the Vodafone app to keep track of data and minutes and I am surprised to see that I have 700 minutes according to the app.
Actually I don’t, and I incur a bill last month for £69. Contact Vodafone they say uninstall the app and re-install it (clear indication to me that app has malfunctioned).
I have screen shots of the app telling me I have 700+ minutes remaining.
Contact Vodafone to query and find out that the sim only deal although the price had reduced the contract would not start to run until June 2013 (when the old one expired).
Vodafone offer me a credit of £20 - Which reluctantly I accept, they then call me and tell me for another £3 a month I can have an extra 500mb and an extra 300 minutes, and I view this as a decent offer and accept.
A few days after I go online to check my balances etc. and it now says my £13 a month only gets me 100 minutes + 100mb data, and yep they have again extended my contract to a year from the day I said yes to these additions.
I ring to query, foreign chap on the other end of the line can’t understand, I tell him I had 300 min + 250mb + unlimited text and for the extra £3 I have had an additional 300 min = 600 minutes and an additional 500mb that makes it 750mb. After 20 minutes of him telling me over and over that I have 100 minutes and 100 mb, I hang up.
I have tried emails; I have spoken to retentions they want £95.60 for me to leave.
I think the easiest thing to do will be to pay this then pursue through the small claims online service, I have copies of all emails, screenshots from my account, screenshots of the Vodafone app telling me I had 700 minutes on the day I went over my limit, and a screenshot of the unfathomable text they send out to show your balances.
Worth the fight.........

looks like your in the same position as me ,up the swanee without a paddle.
the only way i can see out off this is to run the contract out or buy your self out
or get the extras off to a low amount and put the sim some where safe
and get a sim only deal from anther network that cover the amount you use ,and in six month or some thing buy out off your vodafone sim
mines not £96 its £450 to buy out and thats 10 month leftthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -
