RAC what cost

Its your choice not the manufaturers, you don't have to buy into the current fads of electric parking brakes, rubbish automated manual gearboxes or having a can of goo instead of a real spare...plenty of proper cars still for sale that have none of the above.
Whilst fashion victims are brainwashed into believing these trends are progress and spend their hard earned money rewarding the spivs who sell such rubbish, be prepared to continue down this slippery slope.0 -
Not a fashion victim, but a victim of car thieves, twice, so I can only afford a cheap car.
Its the manufacturers that are at fault.0 -
i cheap car (that is one that is old as well) should have a spare wheel or at the very least a wheel well.
These days recovery companies need to keep spare wheels in their vans it seems. Which makes the service a bit more difficult to manage and ruins it for everybody0 -
Surely this is rubbish nowadays. Most new cars don't come with a spare and just a can of tyre weld, which is as much use as a chocolate teapot!
They would surely put the car on a flatbed and take it to the nearest tyre shop? If not, I again would be cancelling ASAP.
Alternatively, as Annie said, call a mobile tyre company. It will cost you but better than being stranded
May be 'rubbish' but you agreed to their terms and each state a 'serviceable spare' is a requirement. A Relay would not be authorised simply for a flat tyre - I refused to take a Nissan because of the jack and spray can. Their loss. Over 40 years I've only used a spare (in anger) twice, but a working spare is worth the effort.0 -
Could not afford it, after burglaries, and I was in desperate need of a car for work, so do not give off to the victim, it should have been pointed out at the time of sale. Have you heard that we are living in austere times ie nobody has any money.0

You like playing the victim card.
Were your eyes not working when you bought the car? Why should it be pointed out?
Plenty of people have money.0 -
I had no money before the recession, however I decided to get up and do something about it.
I now own an MG Rover parts store, and make a good amount.
99% of the time people are too lazy to really put the elbow grease into getting some cash behind them.
Side note - how on earth is it the salesman's responsibility to point out you haven't got a spare? You need to check if it has.
Buying a basic-spec car would be a nightmare if they had to point out everything the car didn't have!
'No alloys wheels, no air con, no leather seats, no heated seats... and no spare of course!'0
