Twitter comps - am I wasting my time?
Comments

Same on fb aswell,
However every fb comp i enter i also write to the company pm them and make them aware that 'SHADOW PROFILES' are usually fake accounts used by cheats.
So far had nearly 100 'thanks' from companies for pointing this out.
If you cant put a real photo on a fb account then you are hiding something imo and dont deserve to win.
Just because some people have a 2nd profile for comping, it doesn't mean that they're cheating - it just means that they don't want their personal newsfeed clogged up with comping posts.
Unless I'm being naive?:beer:0 -

That's pretty much it.
My personal twitter account is used for industry related tweeting.
I have a second account I use for every day BSing and comping.
My prime facebook account I use to keep in touch with my IRL friends and family.
I have a secondary facebook account that was originally set up because a video game release was offering beta access if you played their horrible FB game. A game that required you to "sell your friends" as it were. So a number of us got together and made second accounts so we wouldn't be spamming our IRL friends with things they don't care about.
Though all the company posts really clog up my news feed, and I need to figure out how to stop that.
I don't Like & Share, so the FB comps I do are just standard comp forms, that companies have posted through an FB app.0 -
I know I have been comping for years and I have only won 2 Twitter competitions, similarly I have never won a like and share comp on Facebook and I have entered thousands. No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -

I have two Twitter accounts too, as they don't mind.
Be careful with two FB accounts though, as they can/will/have deleted many second accounts as their T&Cs say 1 account per person. I've also heard about them removing BOTH accounts.Started comping 24/08/2012.
Out to win £2013 in 2013!

yep I'm willing to take the FB risk
On the curiosity side, I'd be interested in seeing if they could associate the two accounts. Since details are different, and I'm not friends with myself. (gosh, that sounds sad!)0 -
I only ever click retweet, I never comment and I very rarely post anything on twitter, i'm not a blogger nor do I post pics. However I have won 6 times on twitter and I estimate I've only entered 550 twitter comps.....I don't think that's too shabbyStarting afresh - comping as much as poss!
Hoping for: some beauty goods, clothes, amazon vouchers, anime, manga, wardrobe, fridge freezer, laptop, an ipad, vouchers for next, exercise goods, a uk break and a wee hol somewhere nice!
Wishing all a little luck:beer:0 -
Hi I have entered competitions for fifteen years and have only just been rewarded with some great prizes so I think you must enter competitions on twitter with hope ,no more. I won a holiday to Turkey this June and last yeah a football trip to watch England in Kiev so just keep at it0

I don't have a blog, but do agree is same names that get the "biggies" but again they're not all bloggers. I spend a lot of time on Twitter and have tried many systems (C&P spamming, RT's only etc), whichever way you try it's swings and roundabouts, last few months is mainly original RT's I do with occasional C&P, if it's something I really want, some months a couple of prizes, some months quite a lot of prizes (all smallish), this month with the exception of 1 slight effort comp (Tweet a photo), my wins have been original company RT's (though if they put up more than 1 comp tweet I RT them all).I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
March Wins - Product Of The Year Goody Bag0 -
I've tweeted 14,600 times and have won around 20 prizes.
I actually think that's an ok return for the click of a mouse0 -
I think it had about 7000 tweets before i won anything on twitter. Was very frustrating. I also tend to tweet at the last minute, which does make me wonder how they pick winners. Ive been quite lucky with tweeting near the end of the comp. Keep going with it xComping for christmas xThankyou to all posters0
