Longest ever spell without a DECENT win?

I just reach the point where I wonder whether it has been worthwhile... then the next one rolls in to keep me going! So, last month it was the new washing machine, just when I could scarcely remember the last win worth more than a few quid - but then I do tend to focus on big holidays and major cash, mostly, so the little wins will tend to be infrequent. Probably toys most recently? Crisps? That sort of thing.
Enjoy!

Thanks for all your comments. Personally, I would never enter a competition to win a packet of crisps, cannot categorise it as a WIN, but that's just my opinion. Having said that, (accidentally) I've won one of the Dr Oetker's Portobello pizzas (still awaiting for a voucher), so it might seem small, but made it me happy so cannot complain about it at all. I think it all depends on whereas it makes you happy to win small, medium or big prizes. And on your situation - if you really struggling with the money/life for some of us a small, little thing might be a massive win, but for others (sadly, like me) only a decent win would be seen as LUCK and a turning point.
I think that I'm not alone, as I've seen a lot of people writing on MSE that they only take part in the 'bigger' competitions, even skipping Facebbok/Twitter Like&Share-alike...so it all depends on your goals!!
Once again, Good luck to you all!2014 Wins: a personalised razor, 1x Cushelle Koala, Sony micro Bluetooth earphones, Tastecard for 2 months....
...Good luck to all! :-) Thumbs up and Thanks to all those posting comps on MSE and beyond!! :T0 -
I have been comping since the end of May this year, and I won a set of gardening books in June worth about £30, and then I won a complete set of Clint Eastwood DVD'S in July worth about £49.
The way I look at it is this, these prizes are the sort of things I want to win and will make use of, and they are free!!!
Yes I would love a big win, but I am also happy with the small prizes.Started comping in May 2013. Prize fund so far £2460 -
Been comping about 4 years and in the first three years averaged about 15,000 worth a year, including a collection of kitchen appliances, break to Austria, 5 star hotel stays in London, hard rock calling tickets 3 years running, Ashes tickets and many smaller prizes, but this year so far it's been 48 bags of crisps and 12kg of Lindt chocolate with no smaller prizes of CDs or DVDs at all, pure luck I assume although I do wonder if there is some sort of blacklist, but ill keep tryingThankyou Sir Alex for 26 years0

I won my first holiday last year, valued at around £1200, after 40 years of comping, I have won a (very) few prizes worth between £500 and £1000 in that time. Most prizes, and there are not that many relatively speaking, are worth less than £200, this year I have won a roller blind up to value £500 but the one I chose would have cost about £300, and a youview box which is on sale at amazon at £229 (that is going to be sold as I have enough boxes and my PC is better for viewing catchup TV)
Now, the Euromillions jackpot, that is what I call a decent prize

I should point out that the main prizes were 3 x £50,000 cash - I only received crisps because I was one of the handful of people who got all the answers spot-on but won nothing. They felt sorry for us and delivered 108 bags of new-variety Walkers to my house, just as I was in the middle of my Lenten fast, which consists of no crisps for a month! Irony can be so ironic sometimes... I fell off the wagon that time.
I rarely enter a comp with a prize worth much less than about a hundred quid to me. It's the eyestrain, you see?

WOW, 40 years! That's an effort and a half! I've just started early this year, but will only carry on until end of the year if I won't win anything SEMI-DECENT:) Otherwise It might stick in my mind as winning a lottery, which is becoming a bit like gambling...But that's only my little, silly opinion. Let's see what happens. I'll update this thread as soon as I win satisfactory prize. Cheers! ;-)

I'd say staying positive is the key to success. [referencing The Secret book]0

Comping is just something i do for fun.
The way i see it, i'm always online, so i may as well put my time to good use and get something out of it.
Anything i win is a bonus and that half hour or so i put in every day isn't a big deal as i've had some awesome wins that have given me some amazing opportunities.
It's just luck - some people comp for years and are yet to win a holiday, others may comp for a few months and win a holiday!0
