Scottish Power: Cancellation Charge

What kind of contracts lawyer would not grasp the concept of roaming charges? Not one that I'd want to employ...No free lunch, and no free laptop

The kind that the phone companies hire.0

Just a quick update. Thank you to ScottishPower for taking their time to sort this problem out.
I gave them a call the other day and they launched an investigation. I got a call yesterday morning from a nice chap stating that everything has been looked in to and from the notes on the account it was made clear that this was a home move and that these charges would not be applied to my bill.
On top of this, ScottishPower sent me a bottle of wine (pictured below) as a gesture of goodwill.

Oh, he understood his contract alright and got one over on the mobile co in court. It seems that there were no roaming charges when the contract was set up, they came later. What kind of contracts lawyer would not grasp the concept of roaming charges? Not one that I'd want to employ...
Now, I think that guy is a contract lawyer you really do want to employ. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
Good for you and thanks for the update.0

Seems this hasn't been completely sorted as per the following bill:

The "Other Charges" have since doubled. I have been waiting for the £25 cancellation fee to be levied before paying the actual usage amount.
Great.0 -
Is this a dual fuel supply? If so it's the usual ETC £25 per fuel-not per account. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Nope, single electricity account. The Gas has been with British Gas since the property was fitted with a supply and that's where I'm taking the Electricity.
I'll request a callback tomorrow if there is no response on here by then.0 -
If you haven't made an official complaint as yet then I suggest you do asap. CC it to the CAB energy complaints section. Avoid any further telephone contact and make as accurate notes as you can re previous telephone conversations.
The above still applies.0 -
Called up today, seems this was doubled instead of levied by accident. I won't bother pursuing the issue since no money has yet been taken.
I'll leave it until tomorrow and give it another check to see if the charges have been removed.
