No, I am not being sarcastic. It is you who is missing something.
Edit: I am assuming it is only being given to those who qualify for a warm home discount payment. As such, my original reply remains with bells on.
Those who are in fuel poverty need all the help they can get with their fuel bills, which is why this announcement is to be welcomed.
If you seriously believe that vulnerable consumers who find themselves in fuel poverty are "rich enough to spend enough on fuel" it's pointless for me to waste time trying to help you get to grips with the reality of the situation.0 -

The qualifying criteria mean only the richest tranche of poor will be given this money. If you do not understand that only a very select few of the poor are ever rich enough to be classified as 'fuel poor' (according to the standard (ridiculous) definition) then you are correct - you know nothing about the reality of being poor.0 -
Hi Guys,
I'm really sorry for the late reply, I was out of the office yesterday afternoon and Malc is away all week
I thought I would pop the correct press release on for you, this is as much as I know as well, but wanted you to have the correct info.

If the energy companies were not compelled to pay for these half-arsed "green" schemes energy would be cheaper for everybody. Government tinkering only serves to make the poor poorer and line the pockets of their rich chums. Those who are in fuel poverty need all the help they can get with their fuel bills, which is why this announcement is to be welcomed.

The definition has changed from someone paying 10% of their income in fuel, to one where total income is below the poverty line and energy costs are higher than normal.
EON won't use either definition though - the qualifying criteria for the warm discount means that only the elderly and people on specific benefits will receive it.0 -
I had been with with Eon for many years until I moved in mid2012,I always got a warm home payment do you think I can get this payment? by the way they sent 2 broken bulbs and they said they would send some more but never got them.0
