the phone will boot to the Samsung 'splash' screen, hang there for a few secs then screen will go blank. On looking at the screen in the right light you can actually see that splash screen's still there but just with the backlight off. it does go off after removing the battery or pressing the power button a few times.
thanks in advance

looks like it needs a reflash - should be done free under warenty0

is there any way i can do it myself?0

you could try here if you have the correct cables

but if it goes wrong you will invalidate your warrenty
i use ns pro but its not worth buying for one phone
a repair center should be able to do it in about 1hr if they are not busy
try cpw with onsite repair0 -
this is also a problem I have but the sound is also not working. Can you advise please.
Thanks0 -
the one i had was slightly water/moisture damaged.
the sound not working sounds like a fault with the speaker or water damage0 -

Everthing you need is here. The OneNand Downloader is the flash carrier interface (The program you need), flashing instructions and flash files. Follows the instructions and prepare youself for a long wait (1½ hours minimum).
Service manual is also there.

Shame on me, should have looked at the date
Still, you'll find that site useful in the future I'm sure
If you have a box (UST, NSPro) it doesn't take too long, but if your using something like a downloader or an optiflex flasher, it can take forever.
The first D500 we flashed a few years ago took 12 hours ! :eek:No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
