Thanks for the messages CW and Jeferey. You wouldn't really know DH had a problem to look at him but unfortunately he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Just finished the first 5 days of radiotherapy - another 32 to go!! The consultants are very positive so we just have to hope.

It is amazing how many men we know have or are being monitored for this and we did not know until DH mentioned his situation. Why don't men talk about health matters the way that women do? I'm sure more of them would get early treatment & likely save their lives.

Luckily I'm not having to drive each day as the hospital is an hour's drive - our daughter and granddaughter have insisted on doing it some days and we also have friends who are doing an odd day here and there. Means I can still play bowls some days which is good me time.

Glad your getting some help going to and from hospital, its very exhausting going so much. At least with your family helping you have a little free time to build yourself up to keep being strong and positive.

    Jeferey

I need your help and as your our gardening etc expert can you help with my rose.

I have a rose in a tub on my kitchen window sill. I grew it from a stem, so rooted it etc and it was fine. That was 2 years ago so all was well with it until it needed repotting again last week. I have repotted it before without problems.

This time as it was a lovely day I took the rose outside to repot and did it there, it was probably outside about 20 minutes at most.

After bringing it in it seemed fine for a day or two and then leaves started to go yellow and drop. I ended up cutting some of the stalks off as there wasn;t any leaves on it, but the plant was still growing as far as I could tell.

Anyway, two days ago I noticed what looked like a spiders web, only small on between the stalks and after a bit of work we spotted tiny little dots, little tiny spiders.

My son took the plant outside and washed them off but he noticed a few more on it this morning. He is killing them when he sees them.

Is it these little spiders that are trying to kill my rose and what else can I do about them. The rose means so much to me, I really want to save it.

Can you help at all Jeferey, pretty please.

Jeferey, they are not red spider mites.

These are small than that, they are also black. Very very small, like a little black dot.............. like this.

We have been washing the leaves every day and thats got rid of some of them but the next day we still see another few of them. They make a white/grey web, not like a spiders web really but similar.

Gorgeous here too - we are off to a raft race this afternoon. Last time we went it was the most hilarious event - think those taking part today will probably be the coolest of all of us.

CW Hope you get rid of those insects from your rose. I have never been able to keep roses very long indoors without them having something go wrong.
