Thermostat set at 0 degrees.
Clock set for Hot water only for 4.30pm to 6.30pm
A few of the radiators are now slightly warm when in theory clock is calling for hot water only.
The towel rails in bathroom and ensuite are cold, we have two radiators in the lounge, one is warm other is cold. Radiator that is warm has a thermostatic valve, cold one does not. But the radiator in the hall with no thermostic valve is warm.
Does not seem to make much sense.
Dont know how long its been like this.
Any ideas please.

What type of system do you have? Combi boiler or hot water tank? Make and model of boiler? If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!

The boiler is a 'Worcester' Greenstar Ri.
Timer is a Danfoss FP715Si, the heating section is actually in the off mode.
We do have a tank in the airing cupboard.
Hope that helps and thanks for your interest.0 -
Check to see if the zone valve is remaining partially open. Do you have two zone valves in the airing cupbord or just one?
Zone valves look like this:
You will need to remove the valve actuator head (box on top) and with the programmer set to heating off, see if the valve spindle below the actuator is not closing fully. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!

if this is a new problem ie it didn't happen last summer when you turned it off then it's prob as Myser said & you have a prob with the valve(s) in the airing cupboardI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Hi, Thanks for your replies, have just come in, looked in airing cupboard and I have one valve, will take a look later tomorrow as its very dark in our airing cupboard.
Will come back then.
Thanks.0 -
If you only have one, it will most likely be a 3-port valve:

Just taken cover off valve, all I can see is a motor, how do I check if its stuck or not?
Noticed that all 3 pipes to the valve are hot, assume that is not how it should be if the water is off.
The valve in question is a:

Waggle the lever a bit to see if you can free it off, it may just be sticking. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Have just one lever on the rh side, it seems loose moved very easy to half way then very tight but managed to get it to bottom position and on came the pump.
Could not the move the lever back, so went and switched the CH and HW on manually by the Time Switch and Thermostat then off again and lever seems to have gone back to as I found it.
Will see how it is in the morning.0 -

Does that mean you were working live inside the valve head without isolating the electricity first? There are mains voltages inside there!
If the spindle is getting stuck preventing the valve fully closing, this may be caused by sludge in the system.
Could you post some photos of the valve with the head removed and hot water on as well as off.If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!
