M&S and there silly vases

We got a beautiful thick glass brown vase the other week in M&S it was £10.

We thought it was worth paying that extra for something so nice. Thats when the nice ended, the vase is useless, for putting cut flowers in.

Why, because the vase inst brown, but is in fact clear glass with a brown coating inside. We were first alerted of this when we came to clean the vase a ring caught the brown coating and scratched it, when we looked at the bottom of the glass, even the flower stalks had caused the brown coating to come away.

Okay we got our money back but really, how much extra can it cost to make a brown vase? it was nothing fancy just thick glass.

Had I known I wouldn't bothered buying it, but £10 isnt exactly cheap for a glass vase

this is it I think

Note from description

"A striking piece of glassware that will look fantastic when holding flowers. The large bubble in the solid base sets off this simple vase beautifully"

poppycat, WHEN are you going to learn the difference between "there" and "their", "none" and "non", "to", "too" and "two"?

You would think that after 7000 posts you might just figure it out....

I would have brought to their attention that its a manufacturing fault, ask them what they were going to do about it ie stop selling it without additional note"not sutable for fresh flowers",but stuff like this happens. If i had to make an extra journey to take it back-I would have asked for my petrol money too!If it was just part of my usual shopping circuit i wouldnt.

All of which they'd quite rightly ignore.

It's clear from the photo that the vase made from clear glass, as it's only brown at the top.
    The money, Dave...

Perhaps you would like to ask the OP a question then-And Yes- I do still think you work for JPR electronics (see warnings and rip-offs thread) so you have an agenda on here-to prove you are a "reasonable " person.

So how is that relevant to the op? She was complaining that the brown colour scratched off.
