LJ's positive challenge 3rd of June

Becoming debt free and staying that way is a very difficult thing to achieve. When times get hard it can be hard to stay positive and keep on going. I've been having a hard time recently myself and know that a lot of others have also been feeling this way so I've decided that we need to have a challenge of sorts to boost our positivity which will give us a renewed energy to bust those debts!
The idea (and this is open to suggestions from others) is that I'll start up a daily thread where we'll post one thing we are doing to boost our positivity. Obviously this does not need to be debt or financially related. It could be something as simple as phoning an old friend we haven't spoken to in a while or fixing that dodgy floorboard that's been bugging for a while, reorganising the kitchen to make things flow easier and hence cutting back on stress etc etc etc Although these things aren't by themselves cutting back on our debts or helping financially they are helping to make our lives easier and make us feel that we have made a positive achievement in our day and to our lives in general.
I'll start!
Today I've spoken to my aunt/godmum in England and we have mentioned a date in five weeks time for me to go down and visit. This gives me a holiday to look forward to and plan for.
I'm also hoping to make a good start on my most important essay and get at least half of it done before 8pm. Once this and another is completed I will have completed my course (hopefully successfully) and have one less thing to worry about and take up my time.

This is a fab idea LJ, I'll joint in. I'm going to answer 3 questions tonight from my assignment and also decided to make myself feel better each day I'm going to make an effort with my appearance. No more throwing on whatevers at hand and pulling my hair back in a bobble.0

Excellent - today I am going to take the children skiing, and while we are there I am meeting up with a friend who is taking her OH and DS skiing and we will sit in the coffee shop and put the world to rights for an hour over coffee!
DH is putting up a new tv ariel which will allow us to watch our freeview box which is much cheaper than either a new freeview box or sky - thereby allowing DH to watch Big Brother on E4 which means that for the next 14 weeks I will not get "if we had Sky, we could watch E4....." type remarks that would get on my nerves slightly!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. paying attention to your looks does make a big psychological difference to how you feel. I never leave the house without a little make up on and hate my hair feeling greasy or wearing unflattering clothes, I feel so much more confident when I look good. very best of luck to you in that xx0 -

I'm not bothered either, but sometimes a quiet life is what I yearn for, so a new ariel it is!!
Plus, bonus is that DS (age 11) is now helping DH put up the ariel, thereby having a bit of boys bonding stuff going on.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
OK, a small but sort of money-related one for me - this evening I will make something to take for lunch at work tomorrow, so I don't have to buy something, even though I am completely lacking in inspiration and can't be bothered moving at the moment!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

if it makes your life easier and more positive then it doesn't matter how small it is.0 -
Good idea LJ, i'm struggling with motivation at the moment.
Today I have decided that i'm going to stop being so laid back with our girls and make sure they do some revision each night. OH is calling the school tomorrow to get an up to date report on our eldest so we know how she is doing.0 -
Hi,
I'd like to join in if that's O.K.
My main cause of negativity is keeping on top of paper work for work, so I am planning to set myself one thing to do each day and try to stick to it. Hopefully this challenge will help me to stay motivated, but I have to warn you I have terrible track record for sticking to the challenges I set myself.
Anyway, that is too negative:rolleyes:
O.K. - so today I will start my reports and complete at least a quarter. There I've said it now I will have to go and do it.Olympic Bronze Challenge Target £1007
