    Good morning all.

The sun is shining and the sky is blue, so it's a lovely start to the week.

I'm taking to eBay parcels to the post office shortly. Most of the things that I'm selling at the moment are for my friend. We share the proceeds of the sales, but I must admit, this time she did give me rather a lot of things to sell. I'm keen to get the things sold, as I'll be stopping the eBaying a few weeks before we go on holiday, and I want everything clear by then. So I'm very busy on eBay.

We had strawberries from the garden for dessert yesterday. All the sun has finally ripened them. Also our rocket is doing well, so all meals have a rocket garnish. I have ham and rocket sandwiches for lunch today.

I think we'll have salmon for dinner, must get it out of the freezer.

Then I'll get stuck into the housework, before it gets too hot.

TTFTM I don't know how much your mortgage shortfall is, but, when the endowment policy matures , the Halifax is normally willing to make an arrangement with the borrower to clear the remaining mortgage over a period of time. So if you didn't have enough savings for the shortfall, you can make an agreement with them. I worked for the Halifax until about 4 years ago, and this sort of situation was beginning to arise quite often.

    Morning all,

Plenty of water for those stuck in offices today/

TTFTM our mortgage is interest only as well, but hoping to sell in the next couple of years so shouldnt make any difference. If we did decide to stay would have to really begin saving like demons, which would be much easier if I ever get a job:eek:

Gorgeous weekend in the garden with the family.

Off to the gym this morning for a swim with my friend. Looking forward to it.

    will pop back later x

    Morning all,

I could never be any more thankful for where I am and what I am as I am now. Sitting in the smallest room in the house with the portable air con blasting units blasting through the rooms. My only regret is that we didn't have a central air conditioning system installed in the house when we had the central heating installed and I had the money.

Men have gone to work, i'm annoyed. Whats the point in doing their packed lunches and putting the chilled drinks in the fridge if they aint gonna pick them up? The 1 litre of bottled water is sitting where I left it right next to where the sandwich boxes and 'Youngest' only drinks water.

Bin men must have struggled with my rubbish bags today. We are allowed 3 bags each household and my bags are huge and I am now slowly emptying the trailer of junk that weve accumulated. A fluorescent jacket with a broken zip, a pair of battered work boots and 2 hard hats were in with todays rubbish and ive spied more junk for next week.... My bin men must love me.:o

On the other hand.... hubby is moaning he cant get in his shed.:D

    Jobs for today:

    [STRIKE]Vacuum downstairs[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Vacuum stairs[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Vacuum upstairs[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Kitchen floor[/STRIKE]
Laundry (only problem with that is they are coming in off the line like boards:mad:)
Brush the 'Girls'. They cant be that comfortable with all that hair. They are presently lying on the laminate flooring in direct path of the cold air and they don't move much. Still, they have plenty of water and aint panting so they should be ok.

Tea... Something with pasta I think. Yesterdays potato salad didn't go down too well with hubby (though I don't think it helped as he ate it at bedtime).

    Have a good day all.

We had a barbecue yesterday and opened the patio doors, turned the telly and watched the tennis whilst sitting with a few cocktails and our feet in baby paddling pools (Not me though, I am not allowed to get my feet wet still! Have to rely on DH washing them with a flannel while I sit on the shower stool with my feet out of the shower, while I am showering), how's that for a picture:rotfl::rotfl: Anyhoo moving on :p the barbecue went really well and everyone had a good time.

Had to go to the podiatry clinic today and he is really pleased, so I don't have to go back for two weeks but then I return to every week after that.

More washing on the line and it looks like it is going to be a good year crop wise that will save some pennies:j

Ruby, glad DD had a good time and is home safe and well.

I am not cooking today, so dinner is salad with cold new potatoes and left over quiche from yesterday, plus ham and boiled eggs with strawberry meringues for dessert.

    BFN x

.... Have been told several times that both Halifax and Standard Life should have been in touch to ask what our plans are. There is less than a year to go and neither have, so no idea what is going on there ...

Can I also suggest that you check that your endowment comapny have the correct address details for your mortgage company - our mortgage company moved to a new office and hadn't told the endowment people, so their letters requesting the account details to pay in the (shortfall-hit) payout weren't answered. It took DH 2 days of constant phone calls back & to & 7 letters to date to track down our payment. We did get compo though, of the interest we'd been charged on the mortgage when it should have had a lump sum paid off.

Sitting here in the office "cooking." No such thing as air conditioning - this office came from The Ark! :D Another 10 days (at least) of this to look forward to!

Well Murray mania is well and truly in place. At least the tapes of the 1966 World Cup can be put back in the archive. Why does there have to be sooooo much overkill. Don't get me wrong I'm as pleased for him as anyone, but I could without the media frenzy that will drag on for weeks. Anyone else agree?

Forgot to report that on Saturday BBC Ceebeebies (sp) set up in our local park. OH and DD took GS to see Mr Bloom and Rebecca shows and his wee face just lit up when he seen Mr Bloom in "real life." Big congratulations to the BBC for handling the whole day so professionally. :T

Back to the blood, SWEAT and tears for me - roll on 5pm!

    Afternoon all,

I was right my poor throat is still bad - worse than before actually so I have been given different antibiotics and they have taken a swab - fingers crossed its just a persistent !!!!!! and nothing too serious!

Have been out on my lunch for a little walk, checked a bus I need for Saturday and tried to get some bits for bf but the local branch of Boots doesn't stock it :| also picked up some squash etc to make sure we all stay hydrated in this heat.

We're off to the cinema tonight which will be lovely before bf goes away again for a week - and wonderful for us as a 'treat' as with the cineworld unlimited card we only need one card between the two of us to get bogof tickets so for the £16 per month the two of us can see as many films as we like and it still feels like a treat :D

Think I might text bf's mum and ask if there's any chance she could do my hair (highlights and trim) before they go away on the 19th as I'd like it done in time for my birthday the week after. I will get her £20 and a bottle of wine as a thank you :)

  • Good afternoon all,
Just got home from the hospital. Hubby has now taken over for the next shift. Dd will be able to come home late this afternoon/evening. She is in alot of discomfort. It just breaks your heart to see one of your children suffering doesn't it.
I haven't cooked a proper meal since Friday. It will be nice to eat properly again.
redruby, glad your dd had a nice time and arrived home safely.
lushlifesaver, hope your new pills help you.
