This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Hot sticky night and did not sleep well so am yawning away this morning and I have so much to do in work today. I better liven myself up.
Stuffed peppers yesterday got changed so that has been transferred to tonight's dinner. DH is on a course today so he is being fed, I have a sardine salad for my lunch.
Got some ebay stuff with bids already so fingers crossed they do ok and add a bit to our emergency aka endowment shortfall fund. Have been told several times that both Halifax and Standard Life should have been in touch to ask what our plans are. There is less than a year to go and neither have, so no idea what is going on there and will just carry on saving every penny we can.
Better get going so will leave with usual well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning TTFTM and all who cross/follow
I slept well last night, probably exhausted from seeing the grandchildren, though it was fun.
I hope everything is going well for Molly & LW.
TTFTM, I was chatting to a colleague on Friday & she has a £40k shortfall on her endowment, eek.
It will be hot at work today, I'm so glad I don't have to be outside doing duty, as there is no shade in the duty areas.
Time I went and unloaded the dishwasher & made my lunch.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning TTFTM and Hester and all who follow :j
Had a very early start to the morning as it was so hot and even with a fan on I couldn't sleep so I thought I would get up, have a shower and get the washing on the line. Came downstairs to find one of the evil kittens had pooped in the clean washing in the basket so that's currently having another spin in the machine!
Hubby has just gone off to work and I'm going to get the girls up for their breakfast and to make their packed lunches. OH has his martial arts training so I won't see him now until 8pm. Eldest DD is dropping off my grandson here while she goes for a driving lesson. I can't believe how expensive they are but it will be worth it if she passes her test.
Dinner tonight is chicken curry and naan bread for me and hubby and the girls are having Mum's Marvellous Monday Mix-up or chicken risotto to give it it's technical name lol. I forsee a lot of salads this week so I'm changing my meal plans to accomodate the hot weather.
Oh well, sounds like the WM has finished so I will love you and leave you. Hugs for everyone who would like one. Cheers m'dears x0 -
Good Morning everyone well life is more or less back to normal -well as normal as my life ever is
:):) - and the school run resumes this morning after Mikey's trip to Portsmouth with the school. He said he enjoyed it but he was very tired when he got home and the hot nights means he hasn't being sleeping well bless him.
Today my builder starts papering and I am hoping all will be done by tomorrow at the latest.I have book club this morning then my pal from Dartford is coming down for lunch and we will be having it at a local pub (I have a £10.00 off voucher:) natch )and its our treat before the long summer break. Her DD is doing well and is 26 weeks now into her pregnacy and apparently will soon be finishing work as with twins, commuting to London daily won't be a lot of fun.So we shall be nattering about the forthcoming babies no doubt.
The weather looks set to be gorgeous again so we may be able to sit outside for lunch.
Hope everyone has a great day even if it is monday morning .
Cheers chums JackieO xx0 -
Morning everyone
Not that I don't like summer I do but yesterday was just too hot. Can't we stick to low 20's rather than 27 degrees we had yesterdayPoor Luna was sweltering and even with a late walk the heat radiating off pavements was unbearable.
Anyway I will shut up moaning. Loved the tennis yesterday which had me shouting at the tellytoday is back to a bump after a lovely weekend of sun, BBQ with family and some great sport. Will rush about to get jobs done as early as possible before it gets too hot. Just the usual cleaning etc to do.
Not sure about tea as I am fasting today. Might look in my hairy dieters book for some inspiration.
Hugs and spoons all round xx

Good morning TTFTM, Hester and dumpling and all those who follow!
Slept OK, woke up a couple of times but that's down to me sleeping with my mouth open at the minute as hay fever makes it impossible to breathe through my nose! So I breathe my throat dry and wake myself up.
I've had a look today, With the help of the camera and flash on my phone and sadly I'm 99% sure my throat infection hasn't been kicked to the kerb by the antibiotics I was given. Not sure if I should go back straight away or give it a day or two? It better buzz off soon, I'm more than sick of it.
I have packed bf off to work with his sandwiches in my cool bag with two ice blocks in, I have access to a fridge so will pop my salad in there rather than keeping it in the cool bag on my desk. He was asked to go to home team training today to make numbers up but w will still be going on our little date night once he gets back. I'll just meet him at home rather than at the cinema so he can shower first!
At work today I need to pop to the bus station to check a bus timetable for Saturday and also run to Boots to pick something up for bf and will buy more squash to keep myself drinking in this heat. Nothing much else to be doing really.
Salad with leftover BBQ meat for lunch and then bf has decided on a meal out for date night although I suspect that may mean KFC!
Anyway I had best be getting on, breakfast to decide on and I need to decide on something to wear to work which will still keep me fairly cool!************************************

Morning all
What a fantastic weekend weather wise :T. Don't quite feel the same now I'm back at work in a hot stuffy office. Still finish at lunchtime today :j.
Off to the local shopping centre this afternoon to get a new swimming costume, I tried last years on and it seems my boobs have grown  it was certainly too small
Enjoy the lovely weather everyone xx0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Misty and overcast to start the day here. Washing on the line. Plants to be watered.
DH up and now getting ready to leave for work.
Dinner last night was a cheeky takeaway once we had got sorted from being away. Have brought lots of stuff out of the caravan - so house looks a bit of a tip at the moment.
Dinner tonight will be sausages, HG new potatoes, veg and gravy. Dessert from the tins/fridge.
Nice weekend away - was really relaxing and had a good time with friends - until we were getting ready to come home - that was then ruined by a stupid comment from someone that's really upset our best friend that we were at the rally with. So have started this week in a similiar situation to the other week - those that are in the deep doo-doo are still in the doo-doo up to their necks and they still insist on bad mouthing others - that have nothing to do with the mess. The situation is now with the big chiefs and this is why those that are involved are kakking their pants and quite rightly so - we will watch from a distance - staying polite and distant. Getting to the point now where we can't be bothered with all the s**t to be honest! We'll speak to our friends tonight to give them our support and reassurance.
Back to work for me today - expecting it to be quite busy - but we'll see.
Have a good day - remember the suncream if you're out in the sun!
Keep safe and well x

Morning all:j:j
Very hot here yesterday,
We went to the carnival that was local yesterday, Had a good couple of hour there.
My wife's Mum picked the girls up from there, And my wife and I went for a drink together after they had gone. Its been about four years since we last Just went for a drink on our own. We have been for a couple of meals without the girls, But not Just a drink. We sat In the beer garden In a shaded area spent about an hour there.
I cooked the pork joint yesterday. Be we never had our roast pork dinner. It was far too hot here !!
So today we have a roasted pork joint to do something with. Not sure if we shall try and have a roasted dinner or if we might do something else with it.
Today my wife has the day booked off work. She will be sorting out the girls room and the living room. Both look like a car boot sale.! Some things will need putting up the loft. Other will need binning.
I shall be doing some work In the garden.
I might left the chickens out to free range In the garden after,
My wife has posted a few photos of the twins dressed up for there dance show. If you go on to my Facebook page you will see them.
Well I hope that you all have a great day,
Enjoy :j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Morning all,
Another scorcher here very nice to have some good weather, we managed to hoover and wash both cars yesterday which was long overdue, twas melting in the heat though.
DD is home and full of cold, she had a brilliant time, and it seems has lived on cheese sandwiches all week, she almost fell on her dinner last night, the only thing she was not so keen on was the other girls wanted to spend all day every day by the pool dd got bored of this very quickly, they really did not see a lot of Greece, well only the nightclubs anyway :rotfl:
Its very nice to have her back under my roof.
Need to do a spot of housework this morning while its still coolish, and do the last bit of dd's holiday washing, managed to get most of it washed and dried yesterday.
Not sure about dinner it will be whatever takes the least cooking, cant be doing with the oven on in this heat.
FS hope your dd is ok xx
Have good days al xx0
