I joined goodreads about this time last year and gave up after a week of not winning, couple days ago I found it again and have won 3 books in 2 days, so not sure if being a member for a while helps as well or it could be just coincidence.

I rated loads of books and added a couple of short reviews yesterday and won this morning. I think that adding reviews and regular site activity has to help.

I rate books, add reviews, create shelves, add books to read etc ... still nothing!
I'm a bit picky with what I tick on the giveaways though, maybe that's it. They have loads of sci-fi/fantasy/romance books - genres which I don't read.

If more people are interested in a book than there are copies available, we will pick the winners at our discretion. The factors that go into our algorithm are: randomness, site activity, genre of books on your shelves, current phase of the moon, and more...


So a real mixture of randomness and site activity - for those who don't win maybe add more genres on to your to read sections?

I've added over 200 books and written a few reviews but haven't won yet. Still hoping though. I actually really like the site and will carry on using it anyhow.

Does anyone want to be 'friends' on goodreads? I like detective books, chick lit, modern fiction and all sorts in between, would love to friend people with similar interests.
