Hey guys,

I recently started entering goodreads competitions, entered about 20 today.
I heard you win quite regularly by entering these comps. Was wondering generally what's the rate at which people win/if people would share experiences with me?

    I won 5 times back in January when I first started entering, and then nothing since.

    So it's pretty random.

    Personally I think it's about the activity as when I first started entering them I won 3 but then nothing. A couple of weeks ago I did an experiment and 'reviewed' some random books added to my to read, etc and then for the following week I won a book almost everyday! but then nothing now as i can't be bothered putting in the effort :rotfl: or maybe it's just about luck :) good luck

    Also interested in finding out about if general activity on your profile influences who they choose. I've been rating books but not written a review yet. Also added some friends. I came to realise that I never rate a book less than four stars; the reason being that I'd never bother to finish anything less worthy!

    Char, I joined earlier this week - have liked and reviewed a number of books, followed authors and have won 2 books. I think I have entered about 40 but am not sure if they are all finished yet. :o

    I do that too. If I haven't been hooked by the storyline by 100 pages in then I don't waste any more of my time on it.

    The site's quite good for getting recommendations based on your 'read' or 'to read' lists too.
