But since you've spat your dummy out read the following .
I just cant see an Afghan who cant even read English, walking into a secure interent cafe parking his goat and cow outside and then commiting a spot of ID Fraud from Tesco.
Secondly I didnt say OUR military did this did I? How many foreign military sources are there in Afghanistan......you tell me since you were there.
Since you have recent working knowledge of telecommunications of Afghanistan can you tell me who installed it there?.....questions....or is it TOP SECRET!
Unfortunately you make a lot of ill-informed assumptions which yes, do make me cross. Particularly as your comments verge on the insulting to the people of a country that has suffered so horribly at the hands of oppressors, both foreign and native, for so very long.
You assume Afghans can't speak Engish and herd goats and cows wherever they go. You also assume that the only access to IT in Afghanistan for the local population would be via Internet Cafe.
The major cities of Afghanistan that I have personal experience of are Kabul and Kandahar - both these cities are major business centres for a country which, although largely a nation of farmers, does have it's fair share of educated, intelligent and astute businessmen. Long before the current military assistance arrived Afghanistan had established it's own telecommunications and IT systems which, just like in our part of the world, is part home-grown and part foreign investment. One such Afghan internet and telecommunications provider for example is NEDA Telecommunications, which not only provide internet but also mobile telephone coverage. In fact if you google NEDA telecommunications you would probably find their home page quite an eye-opener - and not only is their website presented in English but also Dari and Pashtu (two of the main languages of the country). Afghanistan has it's own system of government, complete with Ministry of Communications .....
To my shame, a lot of very intelligent Afghans that I had personal contact with spoke incredibly good English ... a million times better than my Afghan!
The military mix I had contact with throughout last year, when I was there, consisted of UK, US, Denmark, Estonian, French, German, Swedes, Canadians and probably a few other ISAF forces that slip my mind now - all common knowledge readily available to anyone who wants to do a bit of research on the internet - or just keep on top of world news.
All nations take their own military telecommunications sytems with them to an operational area - but as I said in my previous post they are secure systems that do not allow interface with civilian systems - not only is this information available on the internet (https://www.mod.uk for example for UK) but is common sense really. Our military have their own IT specialists both deployed and in UK to enable us to estabish our own systems independent of any host nation we may be in. This information is also readily available from our Armed Forces recruiting centres. This is true of all the other nations military I had contact with.
I am not a spokesperson for the MOD, anything I have said above is information that is readily available to anyone who watches the news and/or chooses to keep themselves informed on current and world affairs via the internet. My point of emphasising information sources is to make the point that I am quoting information readily available - I am not hinting at 'Top Secret' information - I am quoting facts available in the public domain.
I am climbing down off my soap box now - see, I am fully aware it is my personal soapbox, and I make no apologies for my point of view - it is formed from my personal experience and I personally find your comments, making sweeping assumptions about a people who you assume are a nation of cow and goat herders who wouldn't understand modern technology and wouldn't have as much access to it as you or I in our 'wonderful' civilised country, to be immature and ill-informed.
You are as entitled to your view, as I am - maybe you will be encouraged to do a bit more research before you make sweeping and quite insulting assumptions.0 -

It's not a few, it's pages and pages, the one I am on has about 150. You'll just have to take my word that I don't have a keylogger and am more than technically competent (if you'd bothered to read my reply, the information wasn't even in the format I type it.)
Is trolling a hobby, or a compulsion?0 -

I'm not trolling anyone.
I don't think that Tescos have lost their database to crooks.
I can't help thinking *some* of their customers have infected computers and have lost *their* data, and that these lists are for sale to scammers. The money, Dave...0 -

Although I too am curious, I hardly think KittyKate will post a link which will allow any passing card thief who just happens to be reading this thread an open invitation to loot peoples bank accounts.0 -
