Hi Folks,
I've got a KCORP-KLG-575 (Gold series) router. It has been working without any hitches for sometime however the other day it decided to die on me. I've tries to search through threads from the past to sort the problem but I am well and truly lost.
I have done the ipconfig/renew, then /release, then /all stuff. Here is what I get after I have done this.

If possible, try to connect via the ethernet and see if that gets you connected. If it does, get into the router and set up the wireless part again.
Also, look like it is not detecting your wirless card/usb adatpter
"Ethernet adaptor Wireless network connection
Media state - media disconnected"something missing0 -
are you using a laptop? my wireless stopped working on me a while back, turned out i'd caught the wireless button on my laptop and turned it off.0
-
Your ipconfig /all shows that the computer is connected through an ethernet lead to the internet through a router and and separate (cable?) modem. Can you access the configuration page of the router, probably on http://77.97.30.1 and see what the wireless settings are.
In addition to the above your ipconfig /all shows that the wireless media is disconnected, as per the above post, have you disabled the wireless card by mistake?0 -
How to fix a broken wireless connection:
* If it's a laptop check if the wireless switch is on
* Go to "Control Panel", "Add or remove programs", "[Your] Wireless adaptor", then "Repair"
* Get and run WInSockFIx
* Turn on Wireless Zero Configuration as described here: How to troubleshoot wireless network connections in Windows XP
* Disable Media Sense for TCP/IP in Windows XP
* Reinstall drivers for your wireless PCI card

How do I check if i have turned the wireless switch off?
I tried http://77.97.30.1 , but it wouldn't connect.
I think i tried the repair prompt, by right clicking over the wireless network connection icon in the bottom right of my screen.0 -
what laptop have you got? it's usually a function button.0
-
its a fujitsu siemans amilo pro.
It looks like it is F10. Do i just press the button to use it or do i need to press shift + F10 or something?0 -
try the function key, probably labelled "Fn" together with F100
-
yep function and F10 there's a picture of 2 computers next to each other. Also there's a light on the front of the laptop, or the top of the keypad that shows the same 2 computers. If the light is on then your wireless is activated, if it's off then you've turned it off..
funnily enough it was the same laptop i managed to turn wireless off, on.0 -
Cheers folks. That is obviously what happened as it now recognises the wireless signal but guess what!!
I have obviously done something which has messed things up. When I take the ethernet cable out the laptop and put it in my router, i get a LAN message saying "network cable unplugged".
Any ideas??0
