Fence Panels with concrete posts

We've recently moved into a nice house with a lovely garden. At the bottom of the garden, is a shared fence which is wooden with concrete posts/base.

Here's my problem, the kids are always kicking their football over. They then lift the fence and come into the garden. YES! even when I have asked them not to. Even when I am standing the other side, they continue. The panels are now starting to break at the bottom. Has anyone got any advice as to, anything I can do with it, to stop them???

Can you use wooden wedges ? knock them in the top of the panel between the panel and the concrete post to prevent them from being lifted.

Another option would be to drill and screw them into place.

Another would be use something like Evo Stick Sticks Like S**t which is a really good cartridge gun adhesive.

Failing that get a German Shepard :D

Yes wedges will do the trick, but do bear in mind that leavig one panel that you can lift comes in quite useful when you lock yourself out :D

I would be cautious, or careful, on the any drilling. Some posts are hard concrete, there is reinforcing steel that you may have to avoid, the posts could crack...
  • Ask the parents to keep their kids their side of the fence, show them how the fence is starting to degrade and let them know how much it costs and that you will be seeking money from them when they break.

I don't want them coming into the garden when I am not here.

So if you stop them lifting the panels up what will stop them climbing over?
