I dont work either with Rotpunkt or Poggenpohl so I honestly dont know enough about their detail spec but if you are ever up the Milton Keynes way drop me a line and stop by for a coffee and I will show you some differences which arent immediately obvious.

Not saying we will agree but we will probably agree to disagree :)

Thanks for the invite Ryder and if I'm passing anytime I would happily meet up for a coffee and chat.. Regards Leveller :)
  • Well, we ummed and ahed for many months deciding on which kitchen to fill our new extension with.

The end result was Rot Punkt based on perceived quality, features, finish and price. The latter is not small compared to some others but now we've seen and touched the naked units, the quality feels fantastic! And we've poked a lot of units in the last 6 months.

It was delivered by Rolf in his 44 tonne Rot Punkt branded German artic (not just ours, he had some other stops too!) at 6.45am yesterday morning after his overnight journey. Talk about factory fresh!

Happy so far, but of course, some of the quality experience is down to the fitter, who also seems to be rather excellent.

Wheres the best place to get Rotpunkt or schuller kitchens?

We are looking at a kitchen extension at the moment and want to start on the kitchen setup.

I have been recommended to ALNO and Intoto but looks like these guys are overpriced.

    Thanks

Any other recommendations? Misus is after a gloss white kitchen.

    Thanks
  • You mentioned you have looked at the "sheds" but have you tried DIY kitchens?. Their units are as good as any of the German suppliers . £8,800 is a lot of money for mass produced kitchen units unless its huge. Just to add the actual cost of the materials for a standard 600 wide drawer line base unit will be around £20-00 and that includes the German manufacturers. The only advantage German manufacturers have is they are more flexible with unit sizes apart from that there is little between the better British and German manufacturers.

Most of them will use either Grass,Hettich or Blum hinges/drawer runners.British manufacturers tend to use Blum and I believe Rotpunkt do too but theres little between them in terms of price or quality of the hinges/runners.

    Hi Leveller

Ive read some of your comments across a few threads - thank you for the excellent advice. I am having a kitchen installed in a couple of weeks and, from your advice and other research i have done, decided to contact DIY Kitchens. Unfortunately their lead time is a couple of months. Is there anywhere else you would recommend to contact please? We dont have a big budget so cant go down the custom route unfortunately. Just wondered if there were other suppliers that stand out from the crowd? Thank you

Use the DIY kitchens planner for pricing and then take it to Howdens and get them to price match it. The quality is the same, but you'll be more limited on carcass colours.

If you only have a couple of weeks, then you are limited. Even Ikea might struggle to deliver it in time, but it's another option. I wouldn't use a flat pack take-away kitchen by anyone else.
