Would a provisional D/Lic be accepted in any event? I thought it was often declined because it doesn't have a photo (if I recall rightly)?0

The OP friend's issue is that Fidelity shouldn't have accepted the investment before doing any checks necessary.
If they have "rules" that they won't pay out money without certain ID, then they shouldn't let you pay it in under different rules.0 -
If she still looks like the photo on the out of date passport won't they accept that? As she doesn't need it of travel I don't see why it needs to be in date. Worth asking. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Thanks for the postings.
I thought she was on the electoral role.
They wouldn't accept the out-of-date passport.
Yes, exactly, why take the money and invest it in the fund without doing an ID checks, but refuse it when she wants to withdraw? Maybe that is standard practice, but seems slightly unfair. If she had have known, she could simply have invested with her bank!0 -
Can she not say that as they have failed to abide by the money laundering procedures she just wants her initial investment returned as it would have been if it hadn't been accepted?Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0

She can say that but it will make no difference.
They will have their reasons for why they are asking now, and they do not have to / are not legally allowed to tell her why.0 -
Usually these requirements for ID have long lists of alternatives for if you don't have a passpost/driving licence. Eg this one:

That is all proof of address, not proof of ID. You generally need a valid passport, a new-style driving licence, or a certified copy of your birth certificate to proof your ID.sabretoothtigger wrote: »register to vote by post and they send tons of proof.
