Don't Have a Ginger baby or give your child a common name

Katie Hopkins thinks ginger babies are harder to love and if you give your child a common name they will be judged, claims the website: thetalentzone.co.uk.

Frankly I have never heard such nonsense but apparently there are people out there who agree with her.

Why blame the children for the bad mistakes their parents make? I'm sure that Katie's children will be asking that people do not blame them for their mother's promiscuity/ability to steal another woman's husband when they grow up.........
  • People like her are there to purposely wind up the masses, just like the Daily Mail when they write headlines about benefit scroungers and mention the words 'Taxpayer' and 'You're paying for it' It is there to rile you up.

I'm actually a bit disappointed none of mine are ginger.. My brother is and several cousins and my nanna was one of 7 all with red hair... I want one!

The interview they did with her was amusing.. she said she hated names which were geographical locations .. one of her daughters is named India... and she argued with Phillip Schofield that India is a geographical location..

I think everyone has names they associate with a type of child.. teachers must find it impossible to name a child lol I do think children are prejudged based on their name but that doesn't mean you should act on that prejudice.. I wonder what people would think of the names my lot have!

I think the name says more about the parents than the child.. this child is named X.. that says Y about the parents therefore do I want my child going to their house? lol

I cant take that woman seriously. She openly admits to judging children by their names, and instantly deciding solely based on that whether they are suitable to associate with her own children! Her weird logic allows her to reason that a name is a shortcut to being able to work out which class a child comes from, and enables people to make all manner of assumptions about them. Her opinions really showed her up to be a totally ignorant bigot who really shouldn't be given any air time.

I had to laugh when she was stating how she dislikes children who are named after footballers, celebs, seasons of the year or geographical locations. Good old Philip Schofield took great delight in saying 'yes but your daughter is called India'. Her intelligent come back to that one was to say it was not related to a geographical location just a beautiful name! :rotfl:Unless a whole sub-continent has recently been wiped off the face of the earth I think she will find it is. The woman is barking mad.

Katie Hopkins is an idiot, after yet another 15 minutes of fame. I couldn't give a monkeys what she thinks of anything.

I saw this on Youtube and watched open-mouthed. I was really impressed at both Philip and Holly though. Especially Holly's "oh just stop..."

I love red hair. My Grandad on my Moms side had red hair but it didn't follow through to his children or grandchildren as we were all dark haired. We must have followed my Grandma for our colouring.

I'd have been happy with red hair myself or for any of my children.

As for names. Who the hell does she think she is?

For a child to be born with red hair both parents need to carry the ' ginger' gene.
And even then the child may not be ginger.

There are no red-headed people on either side of my family but one of my sisters has red hair. Blimey! She must be the milk-man's.

Her criticism of the names people give their kids has a tiny grain of truth in it. The bit about certain names being popular with those in the class above us being adopted by those lower below and then going straight out of fashion. The book "Freakonomics" has a whole chapter about it. I'm ashamed to say that I do share part of her sentiments when it comes to patently made-up names.

The idea that she wouldn't let her kids associate with those she deems "unsuitable" just because of their names is likely to come back and bite her on the bum. Maybe sooner than she thinks. Like next Tuesday afternoon outside the school-gates. I mean, would anyone sensible let their children associate with hers now that she's shown herself in her true colours?

Oh, I forgot. She showed them by splitting up three different families and having children by three different fathers. A generation ago she would have been called a filthy slapper or worse and considered far too far beyond the Pale to be seen by respectable people on their TVs.

People like this idiot will say anything to get themselves on the telly. She probably doesn't mean half of what she says, she just says it to be controversial and talked about.

Ridiculous woman who really should be setting a better example for her children. I shudder to think what they go through in the playground due to the fame hunger of their mother.
