Tmobile

Hi there,

my partner got a contact with tmobile in dec 2011 (which the guy said was 12 months) anyway with moving and university all the original paper work got lost. She paid the (what we thought was the final debt) amount of £27 but it wasn't taken of her credit report and is marked as defaulted and unsettled giving her a poor credit rating of 511.

We found out when she was rejected for a co-operative bank account. So we called Tmobile to rectify this and they were little use. They informed us it was infact a 24 month contract (which I decided she should just pay off and get rid of them)

I asked for them to agree to change the credit file to settled but they were less than useful. I was told it maybe it can be done then it can't be done and then that the people who do it are in a back office and can't be contacted.

Advice anyone we really need this sorting before august

If the contract commenced December 2011 then it expires in December 2013. Have you settled the arrears and made arrangements to settle the remaining amounts due.

If you don't, then your partners credit file will continue to be impacted to their detriment. Issue is theirs to resolve.

If the contract was 24 months then then this would've been signed whether you believe the Sales person said 12 months or not.

If it has been settled, then they must change the credit reference file entry to show this.

T-mobile/orange have the same parent company everythingeverywhere team that deal with these issues.

Mobile contracts are nearly always "minimum" term not "fixed" term so they never end unless you cancel.

If you cancelled the contract you would have been given a final settlement figure to pay in which to end the contract.

Even if you manage to get the settled debt shown as paid you will still be left with late payment showing on your file
It's not just about the money

i second silk, unless t-mobile was given notice the contract would have continued. By the way, did your partner paid by direct debit? If so, that would have to have been cancelled for the debt to built up
If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...

Allegedly they can take some time to respond from what other people have said?

If it has now been settled and not updated as such within a month or 2, then you could also get the CRA to dispute the status.

Okay thank you. She has to apply for a student account she was rejected with her current credit score.
