what about when the aiming is fine but instead when a boy shakes at the end and it splashes everywhere!? what can i do then? the toilet bowl is always splashed and so of course it splashes off there onto the floor and elsewhere... :(

Get them to use a bit of toilet paper to mop up the excess before they shake- tell them it's not at all girly- I never knew men didn't usually use loo roll for a wee until I grew up (no brothers) - I was very shocked:eek:

  • Hi, DS1 is 4 and DS2 will be potty training soon:eek: . Problem is DS1 misses the loo all the time and I can't get rid of the smell. Downstairs loo has had (in 18 mths) 3 carpets and 3 lots of lino tiles. Tried disinfectant, bleach, floor cleaner with no luck until flooring was replaced and concrete underneath was scrubbed. Recently been using No Vac and the smell seems better or could it be that his aim has improved downstairs!

Upstairs bathroom has carpet that is washable in machine and have also tried No Vac, but the pong has now permeated into the floor underneath and the whole bathroom reeks.

I'm so paranoid and embarrassed about it and just don't know what else I can try to get rid of the smell - I've thought about Bicarbonate of Soda, but do I mix with water and scrub with it or sprinkle it on? Also someone suggested bio washing powder, but we only use non-bio so unless it's really likely to work I'd feel too embarrassed to ask a neighbour in case they asked why.:o

    Thanks

Is there a reason why DS1 keeps missing the loo?

One of my dgs's is a lousy aim and we found that he keeps turning around to make sure that the loo door is closed - every time he turns he sprays the loo floor. After promising him that nobody will go in while he's in there, the problem has now stopped. Another reason for little boys occasionally missing, is that sometimes they just can't reach properly - have you ever tried one of those little step-stools for him to stand on?

I do appreciate what you're going through, my two eldest are both boys (now aged 35 and 29). And along with my ex-OH - none of em could aim straight! Thank heavens my daughter arrived to save my sanity!

    Good Luck :D.

He often misses as he leaves it to the very last minute. OH built a little step with him and we've tried talking with him about it, but as he's generally on transmit only mode like most 4 yr olds it just keeps on happening, now we've even resorted to blocking his fave tv channels one by one and how guilty do we feel!

I had the same problem , when DS reached 11 one of his jobs was to clean the loo and floor twice a week to stop the smell. (yes I used to do it again when he wasn't looking;) )

I worked, his aim got much better very quickly, he lives by himself in his own flat now and no toilet smells.

Shame husbands aren't as easy to train:rolleyes:

Thank god it isn't just me with a smelly loo (and little boys..)!!

Mine don't concentrate so it goes EVERYWHERE.... yep splashes on the wall too.... I end up cleaning everyday - the floor round the loo, down the sides of the loo, under the back of the seat... it is a nightmare... bicarb didn't work for us.. I think the smell is under the pan now...

Yep we've had sprays up the wall too! Bicarb down at present, fingers crossed it zaps the smell. Do you think this is why they had outside loos years ago?
